ParticipantCurious to know your opinion on two different subjects:
With GSP now discussing returning, is this something you’re interested in? He’s discussed “missing time” in the last few years, probably because of he beatings he’s taken in those last few fights, so I’m a bit shaky on being totally excited about it.
Wonderboy winning almost assures him a title shot – are you on board with that? I think the only other that might deserve it would be Maia, but there’s also the fact that more people find Wonderboy’s fighting style more palatable. Your thoughts?
Bonus question: Fedor got the hell beat out of him this last weekend, and yet there’s still talk about him coming to the UFC. UFC heavyweights are no joke – does that turn your stomach at all?

ParticipantI definitely get where you’re coming from on GSP’s health but I can’t help kind of loving this GSP/Bisping idea. Of course Jacare should get the shot – he’s had one loss in half a decade and that was a coulda-gone-either-way decision to a top-level guy who’s pissed hot – but these loopy ideas like Bisping/GSP and Bisping/Hendo (the only fight Hendo should take) just seem crazy enough to work for me. I already think Georges is the GOAT, and if he could become 2-division champ that’d be some dang delicious icing on that. Also, what’s Bisping going to do to Georges, the Count has pillow hands, haven’t you heard?
I want Maia to get the shot now just because he’s older – Wonderboy has more time – and he’s the ultimate gentleman of the sport, but I’d be happy with either. You’re bang on that Wonderboy would be a bigger draw though, so I’m betting it’s his.
And yeah, Fedor being in the UFC just seems goofy at this stage, although part of me still thinks seeing him fight someone like Barnett or Mir could be interesting. Maldonaldo isn’t a top guy but he has pretty good hands – he put Glover in worse trouble than he’s been in against almost any other opponent – so getting caught by him isn’t super damnable, and neither Frank nor Josh is as good a striker.

ParticipantI know you hate all other podcasts with the fire of a thousand suns Robby, but I’m sure you at least checked out the new UFC Unfiltered show with Matt Serra and Jim Norton, especially the first ep from a week and a half ago featuring Uncle Dana himself. Latest one (Ep 3) even has Mike “Office Space” Judge on it.

ParticipantI haven’t checked out Unfiltered yet. I’ve been all over the place – I feel like I haven’t had enough time in the day to consume all the media I want to. I’ve gotten somewhat addicted to YouTube, and I’ve been binging on some tv shows, so I feel really behind on everything.
I do want to mention that it takes time for me to get acclimated to people, and it’s hard for me to try something new, but I definitely want to give this one a try, if nothing else, Serra is just so damn entertaining.

ParticipantYeah, Matt Serra’s gold. For years I’ve wanted him to do something like this so to have both the podcast and have him co-star on Looking For A Fight is like my birthday and Easter every week.
Here’s the short Mike Judge was on about: http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/news/watch-adult-swim-epic-ufc-200-fight-between-daniel-cormier-jon-jones-20160629

ParticipantDang, looks like our boy Hunto is the new main event of UFC-200.
Never a dull moment huh Robby?

ParticipantIt’s kinda ridiculous, right? Sorta disappointing because I believed Jon had it together, but what do I know? Still gonna be a fun night, but man, I feel for DC.

ParticipantOf course Brock has a “potential violation” from USADA. Why WOULDN’T he?

ParticipantYeah, this is starting to get really ridiculous. You’d think these guys would learn that they can’t get away with this shit. Brock did look rather huge.
Of course, Jon’s crew are talking about his supplements being tainted with estrogen blockers, which, according to Marc Raimondi yesterday on the MMA Hour, that’s quite common unfortunately due to cross contamination at these supplement manufacturing facilities. We shall see though!

ParticipantOne thing against Jon is both Yoel Romero and Frank Mir are managed by Malki Kawa, just like Jon is, so you’d think at least after Yoel, and even more after Frank, these guys would be extra careful with this stuff. Especially when you factor in that, as much as I love watching him fight, Jon is already a person of very suspect character and who happens to have two brothers in the PED-riddled NFL.

ParticipantI just don’t understand how these guys feel like they can get away with it, if they are actually trying to cheat. If I were a fighter, I’d be sending USADA every single thing I’d be planning to take so they can check it out and clear it.
With Jon though – he did look pretty jacked there for a while when he was going through his stuff. Sorta makes sense that the estrogen blockers were taken for him to restart his natural testosterone after juicing up while he couldn’t fight.

ParticipantWhat’s weird is both Jon and Brock passed other randoms before one of the randoms got them. It seems like these guys – assuming it truly isn’t tainted supplements – are going in smallish doses and gambling it’ll have cycled out of their by the time a test happens. And most of the time it is.
BUT NOT EVERY TIME.

ParticipantGod damn, remember a couple of posts back I mentioned that Jonny Bones “happens to have two brothers in the PED-riddled NFL”?
#Colts DL Arthur Jones is suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2016 regular season for violating the NFL policy on PEDs

ParticipantOh yeah, it’s ridiculous. I remember GSP saying that 70% or more of the fighters were on PEDs. Now I think it may be higher.

ParticipantHunto’s tirade on Ariel’s show lead the main sports news show here. Can’t remember the last time they lead with an MMA story – probably when Hunto fought Werdum for the interim belt.
Not sure if it’ll do him or the PED fight any good, but he’s sure as shit making a few waves.
