ParticipantYeah, wasn’t that card fantastic? Not a snoozer in the whole bunch.

ParticipantBummer about Pearson/Guillard but shit happens I guess. Some really good undercard fights though. Lyoto’s KO was all the more impressive because Munoz was clearly anticipating the high kick after the low ones. It was kind of touching seeing Lyoto pull back on that follow-up punch too, and seeing the obvious respect and affection the guys have after the fight.
By the way, I’m 97% sure you saw this already Rob, but just in case, Dana’s Vlog from behind the scenes of Bones/Gus …

ParticipantRight on all counts. Since Munoz is such a nice guy, I would have liked him to win, but that’s the way it goes in the fight game, and it was impressive.
I did see that video. I really like seeing these because you see the real guy. There was one with Brian Stann on it, and I loved hearing him as a real person. He was all cussing and stuff, so you could get a better idea of what he’s really like.

ParticipantI don’t know if you listen to any other shows beside Ariel’s Rob, but I’ve been listening to The Fighter and The Kid, the weekly podcast Brendan Schaub does with Bryan Callen (Rogan’s BFF) for FOX and I find it a lot of fun. It’s certainly made me a bigger fan of Schaub at least, because as much as he’s the ex-football jock you imagine he has a good sense of humour and plenty of insight.

ParticipantI do not. I don’t even like listening to Rogan’s all the time. In fact, it has to be someone pretty special for me to listen to his.

ParticipantSame here, but for as buddy-buddy as they are Callen’s shows aren’t really anything like Rogan’s. Whereas Rogan’s the stoner/bro/conspiracy theorist, Callen’s an engaging mix of widely-read/travelled intellectual and complete goofball. He’s supersmart but also supersilly. Callen also keeps his shit way tighter than Rogan. Rogan’s shows go two and half to three and a half hours but Callen’s come in at or under the hour.
I know you’re much less of a podcast listener than me anyway but I think The Fighter and The Kid at least would be worth your time, and of you want something to really get you thinking about everything from the fall of Carthage to small loans which help out people in third world countries, The Bryan Callen Show would do it.

ParticipantI watch the MMA Hour and listen to Alton Brown’s podcast. And that’s it. I guess I just have a low tolerance for that kind of stuff, and both of those podcasts are highly specialized, and in my personal opinion, the best of their kind. Maybe I’m just a prick. Or a mixture of those things.

ParticipantNaaaaaaaaaaaaah, you gotta like what you gotta like. I just owe you one for getting me on the Mutemath train and I thought this might be worth a shot.

ParticipantThat’s some bullshit right Robby? Is that some bullshit?
Please do a road recording yapping about this event. I want to hear you on this one. The main event obviously, but also Lawler/Rory was very interesting and revealing.

ParticipantYeah, I might have to. I’m not nearly as upset as some are, but it’s definitely weird.

ParticipantHey, remember that time you did that show about UFC-167 Robby? And then we yapped about it a little? Well, just in case you don’t, it’s right here –
Meanwhile, Rogan was on the radio yesterday pointing out that Georges has been hit more in his last three fights (mostly Carlos and Johny, not so much Nick) than in all of his previous UFC title fights combined. Obviously he’s been fighting two of the other best WWs the UFC has ever seen, but I wonder if part of it is that he’s also on a little bit of a decline.

ParticipantHey Rob, if you’ve been following TUF, and if you also get the hankering to record some time, you should rock that shit. Especially if you’ve been reading any of the fighter blogs, because it seems like everyone not kicked off the show has one.

ParticipantI do watch TUF, but I don’t really know what I’d say about it, really. I enjoy it, I love Ronda, I hate Meisha, I like the fights. I think that’d be my whole show.
