I actually have tweeted him, that’s no lie, but I’ve never gotten a response. But, being the man I am, I made up the fact that Dana tweeted me back for comedic effect. Apparently, it was not a well-planned joke.

No, I got you, it’s that he only seems to reply to the dicks. He seems to genuinely enjoy dishing out a twitter smackdown or two as part of his daily routine. Meanwhile he’s again talking about Silva/Bones as an inevitability. As a fan of Anderson I don’t know if I really want to see it but if it happens it would have to be the hugest thing in the history of the sport, right?

Meanwhile, meanwhile, did you see the full card for 155? That thing is chock full of entertaining sumbitches – Weidman, Lauzon, Maynard, Belcher, Leben, Pickett, Lamas, Mitrione …

I would rather see Diaz/GSP than GSP/Silva, I know that. Bones/Silva is really the fight that, to me, is the big one. It would have to be huge, a spectacle the likes of which we’ve never seen. And, probably at Cowboys Stadium, to boot. It’d be really hard to to want to throw down gobs of cash to see that live.

And yeah, 155 looks to be an all-around great one. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of buzz for it yet, but I’m sure that will change in the weeks to come.

Yeah, same here, and Dana has been making more noise in the direction of Silva/Bones lately than Silva/GSP. But did you see the post-fight conference for 153? Anderson was backing away from that fight pretty hard (and pretty entertainingly – the dude can be pretty funny when he wants to be) but hopefully it’s all part of the game in the goal of upping his price.

By the way, I can’t remember if you ever talked about watching the Anderson doco Like Water. I’m sure we must have talked about wanting to see it but I’m also pretty sure you haven’t seen it. Or am I wrong? I just bought it off iTunes last night but haven’t seen it yet. I should probably wait to watch it with my wife because he’s her favourite fighter (and she has a crush on him), but I might not be able to hold back from at least watching parts of it this afternoon.

I have not seen Like Water yet. There’s a part of me that sort of likes a lot of the mystery surrounding him, but I probably should watch it. And, Anderson seems to be warming up to the fight (probably an act, as that would be absolutely HUGE for his legacy, the sport in general, and his already fat wallet).

By the way, you watching the World Series of Fighting? It’s the first show for the promotion, but they’ve got a pretty damn good card. The prelims are live now, and the main card is on NBC Sports here in the States – that’s a pretty big deal for an upstart. And you got Bas Rutten and Michael Schiavello commentating. Pretty cool.

I really hope they do well, especially because I’m biased toward wanting Ray Sefo to be successful at everything he does. I don’t think the main card will get shown here though. We get all the UFC stuff as well as some local and Australian organisations but no other US or European orgs. We used to get Strikeforce but I think the last one we had from them was whatever card Overeem/Werdum was on.

It is a shame. I was quite curious about how Tyrone Spong would go in particular. Looks like he did fine.

Meanwhile, did you see this bjj joke on the Simpsons? Of course not, nobody watches the Simpsons anymore. But I laughed anyway.

If someone was to ask me what a behind the scenes photoshoot vid of Brittney Palmer would look like I’d be like, “Here, look at this.”

Did you happen to see that they’re talking about an event in NZ? Huh? Huh? What’d you think of that?

Yeah, there was a big media push here a couple of months ago and it was mentioned. I guess they have Mark Hunt and James Te Huna main and co-main and get a couple of Aussies and Asians on the card too. I’m sure it’ll sell out.

It’s finally here Robby!!! G to the S to the P finally back in the damn octagon less than 36 hours away.

Meanwhile, here’s the great Freddie Roach on his relationships with Georges and Anderson:

In an interview with the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Rewind” show, Roach discussed the potential matchup, Silva’s striking and more.

On how St. Pierre and Silva matchup: “If they fight, the size difference is, I think, possibly too much. But the thing is, if they did fight, I do know the style of Anderson very well. I know how he thinks a little bit. I know how he likes to lay on the ropes and how he likes to counterpunch a lot. We’d have to come up with the perfect game plan and we’d have to fight a perfect fight to win that one. There’s nothing impossible in the world. … Georges is definitely my guy and I’d train him to win that fight. We’d do the best we can, and I’ll you one thing: It would be a war.”

On why Silva didn’t impress Roach at first when training at Roach’s gym: “[Silva spars] like Manny Pacquiao. [Pacquiao] doesn’t blow me away in the gym either because Manny’s about 30-40 percent also. Guys with that talent, they don’t really need to use everything they have. They save it for the fight. They’re veterans. It’s not bad. It’s just part of life. … [Silva is] a very talented guy. The thing about Anderson, he understands distance and timing a little bit better than most at least in the boxing field. I learned that he was just toying with my guys because when I saw him fight for real, he was a whole different guy. When he wants to turn it up, he’s the best.”

On where Silva’s power comes from: “His power comes actually from the timing of his shots and the distance. To knock somebody out, you have to be in the perfect place [and have] the perfect distance and the perfect timing. You catch a guy coming into the shot and so forth. He makes it look easy, but it’s just about timing and distance. He’s really just a master at that. When he came into my gym and he was boxing with some of my heavyweights, he was laying on the ropes and just kind of teasing them a little bit, giving them a little bit of success and then turning that success into disaster. He’s very good at that.”

On how he forms a standup strategy for his fighters: “You’re setting traps up and so forth and you’re trying to walk [opponents] into combinations. Really what I watch is people’s habits and not their mistakes. What they do all the time, the moves they make when you throw a particular punch — he blocks it this way or that way. Once you get the habits down of a fighter, it’s pretty much something they can’t stay away from or they can’t not do it. Once you learn that, it’s very effective of course. I don’t look for mistakes because anyone can make a mistake. I look for their habits. … It’s really a lot of studying of tapes. You have to watch it over and over and over again and watch if he does it with southpaws and right-handed fighters, if he has the same habits.

“It’s a little bit difficult. Like when I was studying [Floyd] Mayweather for Pacquiao, Mayweather doesn’t have a lot of flaws, but he does have a couple of habits. If he fights a southpaw, he dips into the power of the southpaw, which is a big mistake by him and I think that’s why he doesn’t want to fight Manny Pacquiao because he doesn’t like fighting quick left-handed fighters.”

I’m sure you saw 154 – overall, pretty damn entertaining. Main event was spectacular.
