well I’m still on Xbox 1 and don’t plan on going next-gen prolly till next year… but my gamer tag is “The Voodoo Bear” in case somebody wants a whooping in ye’ olde Halo 2…

Well… Pete’s magic was 50% of what made the LoTR films great… so um… I guess The Hobbit will be 50% suckier… which is a shame… because I can honestly say I enjoyed it more than the fellowship and two towers books…
Well… quite honestly… maybe the 360 is the best NOW…. but I think we may need a little more time to crown a winner in the console war… because… it began a week ago… Halo just wins in my book to be honest… but I need that MGS and Gran Turismo fix… gaming does that to you… and although exclusive titles are an endangered species… there will still be quite a few out there… sony and microsoft have enough dough to persuade anybody to make an exclusive… and their 1st party titles are OBVIOUSLY staying exclusive… I think it’s gonna come down to the developers who decide to rebel against the exclusives, and the hardware they feel most comfortable with… I don’t know if you guys remember but when the PS2 came out people going off about how it was difficult to program for it and shit… and well… look how it turned out… So it’s all going to come down to the GOOD games… for me Nintendo has the 2nd spot secured… who knows maybe even the 1st… but like the gamecube… I don’t think there’s going to be enough 3rd party support… I think all of us hardcores (rational hardcore gamers not fanboys) are going with the 360+Wii and maybe a PS3 when it gets ‘budget’ priced… the only people that are going to pick up the PS3 first will be the sony fanboys and the ‘specs nerds’ who have been convinced by Sony that they have the better hardware…
With you 100% rob… and I think the movies SHOULD be a companion to the movie for everyone… If you read the books and see the movie afterwards you really get what’s going on… If you just stick to the films you’re missing out on a LOT…
I can’t gripe too much about the movies… I enjoyed them a lot… they bring to life a lot of things previously limited to words… but if you already know whats going to happen and your not lost at all then the experience is all the more rewarding…
Contrary to LoTR i enjoy the HP books waaaay more than the movies… but they are still nice to see…
On the trailer… I think the actors, specially Harry, are starting to show their age… and I suppose they tried to make him look younger by giving him a haircut and now he just looks like a dweeb… I’m intrested to see some parts I can’t mention… in case someone hasn’t read the book and minds spoilers… because quite honestly I don’t like how some things have been portrayed from the second movie onward… thats my 2 cents

We’ll… since I’m a huge gaming dork… I’ll eventually have to get all three… PS3 has Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, MGS, Guitar Hero, etc etc. 360 has Xbox Live, Halo, Forza, Gears of War, Fable, etc etc… and Wii has all the Nintendo first-party goodness and what wicked awesome controller (It seems like it owuld get old after a while so I hope they come up with some sort of ‘real’ game pad attachment…
I think I might start out with the 360 early next year and a Wii by Christmas ’07… as for the PS3… I’ll buy it whenever the 60gig drops to $400 or less…
