ParticipantCredit=Money…Right? 🙂
I just finished installing BootCamp and Windows XP on the machine. The installation process was flawless and worked like a charm. Having installed both OS’s recently (The HD in my Mini died the other day), I’m really starting to notice how L-O-N-G a Windows install takes. I’m just finishing up the install by downloading and applying the 54 ❗ OS patches post SP2…

ParticipantI just splurged and picked up a new MacBook Pro yesterday. I’m coming to you live from it now!
I got the stepped-up 15″ model and so far, it’s pretty fantastic!

Participant…And that is 98% music!
I dare you to top that!
Of course, I haven’t listened to most of what I have. I have this disease where I have to download music, but I rarely have time to listen to it.
Sad, really…

ParticipantI actually laughed out loud. My wife doesn’t get it… 😆

ParticipantHere I was getting all ready to post a scathing comment on how you have W-A-Y too much arcane knowledge in your head.
…And then I read the second paragraph… 😆

ParticipantWhile I agree that this new legislation would be detrimental, I don’t know that it would be as bad as everyone is saying. One of the examples used in the article is the power for AOL to start blocking MSN, etc. I don’t think that even if AOL had the power to do this, that they would. I mean, talk about alienating your user-base. I think people would just get fed up and vote with their wallets by choosing an ISP that doesn’t do such onerous things.
While I agree that this law should not be allowed to pass, I don’t know that it’s deserving of the “Chicken Little” syndrome that it seems to be getting.
And yes, we should kill them all and while we’re at it, the RIAA and MPAA too! 😈

ParticipantTo answer Newman’s question, the XBox games are some of each; single layer and dual layer dvds. It depends on the game. I don’t know about the new consoles…
Rob, the thing I think you are forgetting (or maby not aware of) about the whole HD-DVD/Blu-Ray debacle is that those of us with current generation HD sets are going to miss out. both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are designed to have end-to-end copy protection. This means copy protection from the disk all the way to the picture coming out of your TV. If you don’t have the new generation HD set (of which there are scant few right now), your expensive new HD-DVD (or Blu-Ray) movie will be downsampled to the standard 720p of a normal progressive-scan disk/player.
So don’t forget to factor in the cost of a new TV when you’re pricing out all this great new technology! 🙂
Those bastards at the MPAA need to get what’s coming to them!

ParticipantI can’t believe Nintendo chose to call their next-gen gaming console the Wii! Revolution was a great name. Now, assuming that the console will be small like the Game Cube, we can call it a Wee Wii. I can hear my 8 year old now crying in the middle of a crowded restaurant because he wants to play with his Wee Wii.

ParticipantIt’s all they can talk about on the news here.
“When will it stop growing?”
“How big will it get?”
“Can I shove it up my ass like an 18 inch rubber cock?”It’s all I hear onthe news. Honestly people…It’s a volcano, rocks come out of it. Get over it!

ParticipantThis is going to be a great movie I hope. I have such fond memories of the original. It came out when I was a kid and I’ve always been haunted by it. That probably has everything to do with the fact that I was young and impressionable, but I love it anyway.

ParticipantNow. Climb out of your basement and join the rest of society! 🙂

ParticipantMaybe Anti-gravity is not a good idea to use as propulsion. The goverment will soon find a way to tax that. Then we’ll all be broke just paying the taxes for keeping our furniture on the floor!

ParticipantI have a 15 mile revers commute and there is a bicycle path that comes nearly all the way down here. I normally ride my motorycle when the weather cooperates ’cause it has been getting about 42MPG compared the the 11 of my truck!
I have been considering beginning to ride a bike down here though since I’ve started working on becoming a runner and trying to get in shape, I think it might help. It’s supposed to be nice this week, maybe I’ll give it a try.
My only problem is that people who normally ride a bike on this trail wear their biking shirts, hats and spandex. I’m pretty sure there’s some sort of law on the books about people of my stature wearing spandex, so there’s no way in hell I’m going to do that! Would it also be a crime to wear street clothes while on a 15 mile ride?
