ParticipantI’m pretty sure it’s the diary thing. There’s definitely a reading scene. I mean, why would there not be?

KeymasterDoes it sound like the same audio to you? His voice sounded like it has more texture than it did back then, so I figured it was a new recording, with the phrase just being verbatim.
Also, let’s be real; if it was a diary, it would include a lot more internal whining about Toshi Station, power converters, not being able to go through metal detectors without telling the story about the time he found his long last dad on the job, and the magical tingle he still feels when he stands too close to Leia. I always assumed there would be more crying in a Luke diary.

ParticipantWell, that stuff is in there too but they were never going to include the whole diary reading in a mere teaser. They have to keep some good stuff for the trailer proper.

ParticipantI have no doubt this is going to (finally) be a good modern Star Wars flick.
But I just can’t get excited for it. As of right now I have zero interest.
I feel so ashamed. 🙁
That being said. The new Star Wars and Darth Vader comics from Marvel are really good.

ParticipantWowie, really? I was already really impressed, but somehow seeing Han made me so excited, because HE looked excited. For me, it’s really hard to temper the expectations after that.

ParticipantWell…
I will have admit Han definitely looks like Han and not Indy dressed up as Han. 🙂I think part of my issue is that I can’t stop thinking what we could have had if Lucas had sold 15 years ago: a great modern trilogy, spin-offs. The stories we’ve gotten through video games and animated television completely destroy the prequels. It drives me crazy.
The Lucas taint (haha I said taint) will not be washed away until it’s out out. For me at least.

ParticipantI’ve heard a lot of peeps say the new comics are good now so eff me for not reading them yet.

ParticipantIn response to your latest solo episode Robby, I wasn’t suggesting that the Star Wars spin-offs can’t work without jedis, just wanted your take because I know you love that aspect of the saga so much and really take it to heart. I agree with what you said though, it’s not necessary for a Star Wars story to involve jedis and/or sith. The Galaxy Far, Far Away is rich enough even without that element.
And yeah, I’d love an Obi-Wan story starring Ewan too. I’m not as big a fan of him as you are, but I like him a lot in that role and if they get a good writer/director he could kill it.

ParticipantTo me, it’s really all about Rebels right now. Have you watched it and the Clone Wars? There’s a thought that I want to share, but it’s really dependent on whether you’ve seen those or not.

ParticipantI did finish Rebels S1, but still haven’t watched The Clones Wars. It’s on Netflix over here though so I’ll probably get on that train in a week or so.

ParticipantYeah, Clone Wars really is top notch. There are some episodes that aren’t great, but overall I really dig it. I’ve actually started watching episodes again recently – like now there’s a chronological order to watch them instead of the release order that is a pathway to abilities some consider to be…sorry. Some like the chronological order better.

ParticipantThey were released out of chronological order? What kind of animals do they have in charge over there at Lucasfilm?

ParticipantHonestly, didn’t really notice it before. Still, cool to see it in the right order.
June 22, 2015 at 10:31 am #63851Version3
KeymasterWhere have you found this re-ordering? I’ve recently grabbed the series again (in higher quality this time) and haven’t noticed anything around ordering. Tell me the details Robby, quit jerking me around.

ParticipantQuit playing games with our hearts Rob. Spill the beans.
