I know I’ve mentioned this about fifty bazillion times before, but why doesn’t Jerry bring his keyboard in more often? I know he’s commented that it’s hard to haul his big keyboards over, but surely he has some smaller ones?

But the video being in German is part of the fun.

And yes, the main point was, “Hey, look! A keytar!”

I liked the part with the video and the part where The Captain Said:

    Quote:
Adding 3D objects to existing scenes… the capabilities coming our way soon are incredible!

That’s some really cool stuff. I suppose this is the next evolution of Photoshopping an image.

Even though I doubt it, there may come a time when Linux only runs on Mac hardware. I’m not sure if you’ve heard about it, but Microsoft is trying to push a new certification system through with OEMs as part of Windows 8 so that if they want to be able to use the Windows logo as part of advertising their computers, they have to make it so the computers can only run Windows. Here’s the article:

    http://www.internetnews.com/blog/skerner/red-hat-engineer-calls-out-windows-8-secure-boot-as-a-linux-risk.html

Of course this wouldn’t effect Macs, though I think if Microsoft actually goes through with this the Linux community will probably find a way to work around it.

Edit: Just to clarify, I meant I doubt Linux would one day only be able to work on Mac hardware, not that Linux would run well on Mac hardware.

Having said all that, there are a few upgrades I want to do to my computer. Also, depending on how business goes, my company offered to buy me any kind of laptop of my choice, either Linux or Mac. Being a Linux guy I had to give it some thought, but I decided to go with the Mac because I already have Linux on my computer and use it as my day-to-day operating system and I thought it would be good to learn another operating system and expand my technical knowledge.

Speaking of splurges, I guess when it comes to splurging I just don’t look in the computer direction. As in, if I have an extra $500 I don’t say, “I wonder what kind of computer stuff I can get,” I say, “Ooo, I wonder what guitar and / or guitar parts and / or amplifier or guitar processor I can get.” I guess once I have a computer I’m happy with I tend to look in other directions to spend my money.

No, but you can certainly do things similar to it. Because that crud is funny.

I very much look forward to hearing all this on future shows. Hint hint.

That should keep them away well into their 30s, if you are holding a rifle at the time.

Because after 30 it starts sounding like an attractive proposition?

“Listen Son, you best behave in my house and around my girls. Otherwise I’ll show you the other end of Cookie Monster.” I don’t know, that doesn’t sound quite right.

That would be great. “Hey, uh, do you guys help with turtles?” Then before they can even respond, “See, I’ve got this turtle and it’s really constipated. It’s been eating some flies and I don’t know what else.”

I like how when the guy got the pink octopus home and put it on his peter, the orange octopus realized it was okay because the guy was just using the pink octopus as a peter sucker instead of for food. And then how the guy started trying to punch the orange octopus instead of just saying, “Hey look! Another free peter sucker!”

I agree. The Blender community as a whole and the Blender product have both come a long way.

Wow, some really epic stuff going on there.

As a side note, the band that made that song – White Lies – reminds me of Jerry quite a bit. Not in the sound per se, but there seems to have been a lot of bands over the last couple of years taking 80s styles and influences and kind of focusing them through a modern lens and I heard Jerry do that before I heard anyone else do it.

    Since 1965.
