ParticipantI think I will be able to enjoy this if I can separate it from the movies. You know, let it be it’s own thing…
…..and enough of the filling in all the blanks that weren’t blanks until Lucas tried to make money. Anakin with a padawan? Christ, might as well give artoo a flamethrower and missile launcher..

KeymasterThat’s a bummer, I was at least hoping for okay.

ParticipantI think I’ve figured out what it all comes down to.
When Lucas writes a movie, he always then turns it over to his colleagues for them to edit and spruce up. With that in mind, I have the original Star Wars script as written by Lucas:
There is big bad man.
Lots of people in big empire.
Oh no! Bad man has secret son!
BAM! POW! KAPOW!
Secret son wins! That was his script for all three movies. After writing that his colleagues took the script and patted him on the head and said, “That’s good Georgie, that’s real good. You did a good, good thing,” while he smiled and ate his cookies and wiggled his toes. They then turned it into the Star Wars we know today.
When it came time for the prequels, Lucas got his inspiration while reading his favorite book, “How to Fist Yourself in Two Easy Steps”. Only this time, he demanded the script had no revisions, so we were left with the prequels as they are.
Now we have The Clone Wars. Again. The first line of the script starts off with, “I is bester writer than you,” so one can only imagine its quality.

ParticipantThis movie’s just getting slammed everywhere. I really liked that view of the prequels. I just think that in his old age, he’s become less collaborative and overall doesn’t listen to other ideas. Indy 4 is a great example, as are those damn prequels.

ParticipantI, for one, liked it (big surprise, I know). You have to keep in mind that it is made for TV, and that this was basically the first 3 episodes played back to back to back. The animation was gorgeous, and the voice acting was great. I have my issues with it, but I think it’s going to be a great show.

KeymasterJerry said he saw it, and said that it was pretty much what he expected it to be. I think he liked it overall, and planned to give it a second go on a better screen (DLP).

Keymasterlet’s make sure we consider the audience for it’s timeslot before we use cartoon network as an excuse for it to suck. If it’s primetime, it’s not for little kiddies, so should have the proper level of wit, demographic appropriate storytelling and humor -this is where I hear it’s way off the mark (audience appropriateness).

ParticipantHmmm, I guess that is true. From what I could tell, it looked like it was trying to appeal to as many audiences as it could. There was the dumb battle droid crap for the kids, then there were the battle scenes that were on the ROTS level of violence that seemed aimed at the older audience. The humor definitely seemed split as well…
