Kate was a waste of screentime, her age was very distracting and I just didn’t feel like she had much to offer the movie, but then I really didn’t care because I was watching a new fucking Superman movie!…

Finally after getting my SUCDVD and watching SR again, I do see what Bryan says. I am just looking at her and that there is something distracting about her. So, if you had to cast Lois Lane Captain Bryan, who will it be?

That’s a really good question, and a tough one. Because of the age requirements due to Superman already being cast, and the bulk of the cast having a relatively young look. Honestly, I’d have preferred an unknown there too, but with an unknown in the movie’s lead, I know why they couldn’t do that either. If I was limited to a Kate, I’d have picked Winslett or Beckinsale, not Bosworth… W could have at least acted, and I think her look could have been more accepting. Beckinsale could have acted well enough, and her look would have been really good with the youthful Lane, so let’s say if it were someone young (or young looking) like it is currently, I’d have picked Kate Beckinsale or ( I had to really look around here) Ellen Pompeo. I think she can act, and I think she’d be visually accepting. She makes a decent brunette too (Isn’t she nearly always a dirty blonde?).

If age was not an issue, I’d have picked a Laura Linney, a Diane Lane or a Robin Wright Penn… A decent looking woman, who could actually look like a damn reporter and can act. I’m not sure on the Diane Lane, but let’s face it, she’d have the look down if she wasn’t bound by the requirements of needing to look 28.

But given real thought time, that list could be totally different.

I attempted a second watching the other night and I couldn’t do it. I just couldn’t watch it all the way through. As a fan of comic book movies and Superman and a film lover who liked the original films, I didn’t need to see Bryan Singer give Richard Donner and Lester a handjob for two hours. The theater awe has worn off and truth has finally reared it’s ugly head, I don’t know if I liked the movie. If Bryan Singer really wanted me to watch Superman 1 and 2 I would downl—buy the DVD. So all in all, this film would sit on my shelf for a while before I watch it again.
