Superman Returns At Last

Saw Superman, the 1978 version, again. No surprise that flying parts look lame but for the time, back then, was awesome. Question, when you saw Superman for the first time, did you get a woody seeing Ms. Teschmacher?

I also watched Superman 1978 last night. And although I can say with some certainty that I didn’t get a woody looking at Miss Teschmacher when I saw it the first time (shit, the movie came out when I was 2!), I can safely say that she gave me a woody last night.

The original is really, really good. And I didn’t realize that Superman’s speech at the end of SR was the same as Jor-El’s in S1. Interesting…

EDIT: Oh, and I just finished reading Kevin Smith’s Superman Lives script. As much as a fan of KS as I am, I found the script pretty damn bad.

It’s pretty readily available. I searched for “Kevin Smith Superman script” through Google and it came up with no problem.

The KS script, was he supposed to make it?

If you mean, was he supposed to do the script, yes, he was asked by Warner Bros. to give it a shot. If you mean, was he supposed to direct, no.

Dude Superman Lives is almost like an epic story because so much drama has happened over the years. Thank God McG or Nicholas Cage weren’t involved.

Some of the scripts sucked. But they had to have a story like this (Returns) to re-introduce Superman. Maybe in the second or third movie they will have Brainiac and Doomsday.

I want to see the whole Death of Superman thing, but maybe not the second one. Oh and I’m getting into some fan edits and preservations of movies and this guy is editing together Superman 1&2 and adding some scenes form the 3 & 4 and making a more serious, modern film out of it.
