Like sands thru Christin butt-cheeks, and these are the Days of Octavious’ Life
Well the new job that I have is, no more. Got to work at 7:47 with my orange can of Rockstar, yummy and proceed to start my work. Well I see the HR guy go to my relative’s office, my boss and shut the door. Thought nothing of it. Then he comes out, asking me to join him to his office. I am thinking this is not good. Now as I follow him to his office, I am going thru my head of all the possible things he can say, what happen, etc. He told me with all the hires, my job not me, my work ethics are fine, but the job itself is no longer needed. Now I get home and tell my wife and look at my 2 yr old daughter. I go in the computer room and think and say What The Fuck. The phone rings. *dramatic music, preferred by Jerry* (by the way nice pic on the my space) It’s my relative, cousin that I use to work for and he is FUCKIN’ pissed. One, the HR guy didn’t tell the REAL reason. Two, my cousin told me that the reason I was let go. More dramatic music.
My father in-law retired from a job, basically the company is moving out of the country. But being that my father in-law is a can’t sit all day long kinda of guy, he decides to get a part-time, 2 day a week job. Now, his old company made an offer and this other company, we will call Company X made an offer. My father in-law liked the offer of Company X.
*peak dramatic music*
Apparently, the company that I worked for and Company X don’t get along. Matter-of-fact, it’s been now that Company X has gone thru garbage to possibly get customers and databases. So saying that, conflict of interests bullshit, I had to be let go. Now I can get my job back but my father in-law has to quit his job in order for that to happen. I had this school yard/playground, kiddie shit. Will have an update.

ParticipantLike Falling Down. Get haircuts like Michael Douglas.
Mini-UPDATE: In the talks of waiting for the owner to get back from business trip so we can sit down and talk. A good chance of getting my job back but come Monday afternoon it’s the unemployment line, if nothing else is better comes up.

ParticipantSo when you say you were working for your cousin you mean you were working under him for the company he works for? And HR went over his head with some confict of interest bullshit?
Or do you mean you were literally working for your cousin (ie, he owns the company) and he fired you but his HR guy fed you some other story about the reason for it?

ParticipantSorta funny, but I still haven’t started at Sprint. Apparently there was a hiring freeze put in last Thursday, and I’ve been on the phone with dudes from all over every day trying to find out if I’m in the system or not. (If I am, I’m hired, if I’m not, then I’ll be hanged.)
So yeah, not really as interesting as Darthie’s problem here, but still a problem.
Plus, I got to get to work. My penis can’t handle all this time off!

Damn. That’s pretty much the worst situation, when you’re pulling your weight just fine performance-wise but the rug gets pulled from under you because of political bullshit.

What about volunteering at an old folks retirement home until Sprint gets their shit together? Some of those seniors need a hand with the bathing and the catheter replacement sometimes and the last thing you’d be thinking about is celebrating.

ParticipantOh, do I wish. I going to play Back in Black in my office loud. But the best part of this that has some Switched On that I never got a chance to say. When I left my old job, I had about 5 sample discs and couple “Bee’s Knees, Yo!” things lying around. But with this new job, almost everybody that has a computer had an iPod and iTunes and we share music files and yes I have brought alot of shows. 94, 108, 119, sample disc and the SW show 93.

ParticipantNice work dude, I’d love to see you walk back in to The Imperial March or whatever Darth Vader’s theme is called. 126 and 127 are great shows for introducing new listeners too, plenty of funny talk and then some funny songs.
(If there are any hot ladies in the office be sure to let them hear show 83 and give them my email.)
