Well, I’ve never been much for money. I’d rather be happy doing a job, you know? But the problem is, there’s not a job out there, at least that I know of, where I could make the kind of money I want to make and still be able to have fun. So I’ll do a tedious job with very little joy for more money, and be able to play more when I’m out of work.

At this point, I’d be willing to swap jobs with a fry cook as long as it paid me enough to pay the bills. But that’s a whole other story …

There’s gotta be a way to be happy and earn a living…..I refuse to believe that I exist in a world with Richard Simmons and I have to hate my job…..Nope, don’t buy it…therefore I am not here.

This is a big problem for me as I still look. I try to put fun on the measuring stick, but it usually ends up being “not hate” instead of fun. This issue is exactly why it was so hard for me to walk away from and ultimately stop pursuing switched:ON… because I just couldn’t/can’t understand how it couldn’t have been something that contributed to earnings.

Yeah Bing, but I’m generally a glass-half-full kind of dude though so every time I think I’d rather be a film-maker or pro-football player or intergalactic smuggler I also think thank fuck I’m not a road-worker or a parking attendant or a chicken farm huffer.

I do always think about how I can improve things for myself though, it just doesn’t seem to ever be in my nature to let myself be completely satisfied because I’m wary that would lead to getting myself get in a rut, so I’m trying to cut myself off at the pass before I get in any kind of monotonous groove or Downward Spiral. I can’t be in a position where I’m just going through the motions and so I don’t do jobs where it’s repetitive or standard type stuff for any length of time if I can help it, and there’s enough work around (and enough lazy architects that give the minimum amount of details) that I can find jobs where I have a lot of problem solving to do.

I’d like to be able to say something useful but I’m in such a different field to all you guys and even the basics of your jobs would just fly over my head.
