maybe its the high pitched whine of the motors. it just creeps me out.
My essence still senses Bucho's women.
Also the up-and-down bobbing motion. Think of it like this… if you think of some monster thing coming down the street just gliding along, and then you think about the same thing kind of bobbing up and down in a certain way, which one seems creepier.

Just now they’re starting to debate whether there should be limits on research that might lead to loss of human control over computer-based systems?!? Why didn’t they sort that shit out before they started creating robots that can out-maneuver us and smell fear and EAT HUMAN BEINGS FOR ENERGY?!?! I thought scientists were supposed to be smart!!!!

On the show I watched about robots on the History channel, they had one of the writers from a few of the Terminator movies on talking about his concerns and the parallels between what they’re doing now and the movies.
I think what it comes down to is the scientists feel driven to create, whatever the outcome may be. They hope it can somehow be used for good, and that thing that drove them to be scientists is driving them to create whatever they can. And then there’s the funding they get from sources that very much want projects like this to proceed.
Oh yeah, I get all that and I think scientists and engineers are pretty awesome for the most part, but the time to come up with the safeguards is right at the very start, not when you’re already building them. As soon as Bryan brings out his personal EMP device I’m buying two.
