ParticipantI thought we had a thread for Al already but if we do I can’t find the sumbitch.
Anyway, I liked this interview a lot and I’m a sharing kind of dude so here it is in your choice of mp3 download, audio player or written transcript.

Participantnobody on this forum likes Weird Al Yankovic.
they better love him or i’ll personally come to each of your houses and beat you into dregs of despair for your wanton shame and loathsomeness.

Participantthanks for this post, Bucho. i thought his new album wasn’t out until later this summer. iTunesĀ® shows it’s been out since last month. it’s only $7.84 for me to finish out the album but i know he’s been putting extra media content on disc since the 90s releases. and SoL had a DVD with videos and a surround mix. decisions, decisions. there’s a good chance i’ll do both. if there’s one artist that deserves it, it’s him.
i’ll never forget the first time i heard “Eat It” on the radio back in, what, ’84?
his is probably the most “complete” collection of a music artist i have, barely winning out over Enigma.

ParticipantI heard about this from the Master Of None/Gunaxin podcast. I always thought Weird Al was just a Simpsons character singing a little ditty about Homer and Marge.
Then I heard his other stuff…..especially his Star wars parodies..

Participantthis is gonna be my canned email response to my family from now on.

ParticipantHere’s a good example of an Al interview, on the same radio show but earlier this year, where he tells the story of how he got started. (Scroll to the bottom for the mp3.)

And here’s another fun one from some time in the last month or so, less interview and more playing around.

KeymasterWow, if we were doing regular shows, had a large audience or had any kind of sensible release plan, it would be awesome to try to get Al to stop by our little show when he’s in Tx on tour next month.
But we aren’t, we don’t and we don’t… so there.
