ParticipantCould have sworn we had a Vimeo thread but it isn’t showing up in the search so for the first time in my entire life I’m forced to confront the possibility that I may have been in error.
No mind, the point is look at this video –

KeymasterI searched and found this thread. It’s possible that rather being in error, you were simply forgetting that you are in our future. And since the SOS site is hosted in Pacific Standard time… well, you get it.

KeymasterOh yeah, and time lapses are cool. I see low clouds like that often around the Olympic Mountains (from across the sound), and around the base of Mt Rainier on clear days and I think about how cool a time lapse would be. Now I know exactly have cool it would be ( +/- 2%).

ParticipantThe lapsings of the times can be quite moving when they’re done as rightly as this one. I mean, sure the music does a bunch of the work, but the physics on display – the way the soft, almost weightlessly gentle mass of water particulate moves so similarly to the way an ominously powerful, threatening river may move (although of course they’re motivated by different primary forces) – and the way that that gentle water moves in relation to man-made things both stationary and mobile is kind of wondrous and humbling.
And it takes a lot to humble me, because I know how awesome I am.

This only makes me curiouser and cursiouser to hear some tales of The Captain’s Mission To The PacNorthWest. Olympic Mountains, Mt Rainier, low clouds, the sound … seems exotic as Pandora. Of course I say this as the goofball who wrote blogs and videoed videos when I went to live somewhere else precisely because of how intriguing I find the whole notion of making a life somewhere different, and I wanted to share it for other peeps like me who do that whole “vicarious” thing.
But whatevs Captain, you probably have some quaint notions of “privacy” and “discretion” which prevent you from telling some stories of your experience into the old audio devices or blogosphere so … whatevs.

KeymasterIt’s so much simpler than that my friend. I’m fucking lazy.

KeymasterIt’s not Vimeo… but it SHOULD be. It makes me want to get on a plane and make a certain builder be my guide.

ParticipantShit yeah, we got some gorgeous countryside around this joint, but then so does The United States of America. You show me yours and I’ll show you mine.

KeymasterI’d have to try facing the GoPro away from my massive noisy noggin and our the window for some of these drives to do that.
Yep, I need 2 cameras (2 GoPros specifically).

KeymasterI’d hope you’d record a LOT more videos instead. Speaking of… where the fuck are you road reviews boy?

ParticipantOh yeah, Road Reviews are stalled as fuck. At some point my passion for being a movie reviewer crossed back underneath the amount of work it takes to produce them to the level I think they should be produced. I still might do some in future, especially when I get a new rig with more processing power, but for right now it’s a hiatused project.

ParticipantYeah, you should get on that. I shouldn’t be the only one posting things on this board (hint, hint).
