KeymasterWhy? I wasn’t funny in any of them (the two I’m in are REALLY aweful). Well, at least I wrote a lot of it.

ParticipantNHIC – the shots of Rob are too funny. Gotta love the Pardo voice. WOW Vitamins was friggin great, especially when the guy threw the kid. Deep Thoughts were great and the health insurance was funny.

ParticipantIf this showreel doesn’t get Rob a roll in the next Harry Potter film it’ll be a goddamned travesty of casting politics, a travesty I tells ya.

ParticipantWhat about a spoof of eHarmony?

ParticipantDidn’t we consider that for the Mango commercial, Bryan? That sounds vaguely familiar…

KeymasterYes, that was one of the ideas. I have a few other projects we need to do soon. 🙂

ParticipantI’d love to see Bryan play the Queen and Rob as Prince Charles. We already know Bryan has the range to take on Helen Mirren in the Oscar stakes but it would be magic to see Rob do his posh royal accent and wear prosthetic ears.

ParticipantSo you want to see Bryan in drag, …again?!
February 3, 2007 at 1:18 pm #17638Bucho
ParticipantCome on Octavious me old china, you know we all do. More importantly, I’d like to see Jerry play a Vinny Jones type shitkickin badass lawman who sings while he delivers justice.

ParticipantThat Health Insurance commercial; who wrote it and what was it made for? It was so well done and funny, funny, funny. The pictures illustrating the story. Drinking the oil and it’s all running down, then pulling the car with rope? That’s great.

KeymasterI have to honk my horn on that one… Rob and I wrote every skit on that “show” but I wrote the majority of that one. Actually I wrote the majority of all of them, but it was Rob’s delivery that actually sold the jokes.
Does that mean I only think funny rather than “be” funny?
February 4, 2007 at 1:23 pm #17645Scatt
ParticipantI wouldn’t cut yourself down like that, but perhaps you’ve got a serious knack for writing that’s either 1) being suppressed, or 2) you’re not even conscious of, yet.
Either way, great job. And yes, Rob’s delivery helps just as much, because think of what a good idea that was, then think of how it would have turned out if someone less committed to the sell of it was involved.

KeymasterYeah, like the two skits we did on that “show” that suck ass… without Rob’s delivery they weren’t really very funny. -That and being too insurance specific (a requirement of the project) was a limiting factor.
I did write the Mango Mobile commercial though.
