Version3
KeymasterSo, thinking about updating the site. –And actually doing the work too.
Anything that you wish the site did do that it doesn’t, or wish that it didn’t do that it’s currently doing? This may not be important if I do it sooner rather than later, but I thought I’d ask anyway.

ParticipantIt would be cool to have a bit of a documentary section. Like a wiki page.
I like titties.

ParticipantI would love love love to see some of the old material talked about on the old shows in the gallery or elsewhere. There were a couple pictures of the car crash and pimp-ho I don’t think I have seen. I think someone mentioned pimp-ho might be gone forever.
I would also be excited for a kind of documentary section as well

KeymasterHey Jerry… did you ever look to see if you had Pimp Ho anywhere else? I’ll have to do another look to see if we are wrong, but yeah it seems like that one is gone along with V1 of the website.
What I wish he had was the old “as a Storm Trooper” images he’d done in the very early shows.

ParticipantI’d like the site to have a feature by which a beacon could be sent to AWOL sumbitches like Bing and Octavious and Lark.

KeymasterI’ve done the email all subscribers thing a few times, but it doesn’t bring them back. Nothing can.

ParticipantIt’s weird that they’ll drop on for a couple of days once in a while and then slink off again, back to their secret lairs where they scheme their schemes.
Weirdos.
I can backstab them like that with almost zero fear that they’ll ever find out I did it. Because I know you guys won’t tell and there’s almost no other way they could possibly find out.

KeymasterYeah, lack of documentation is a good thing.

ParticipantDid you say recently you might look at leaving GoDaddy? Or did I dream that? I mostly ask because after all that advice you gave me a while back helping me buy my domain name I bought it and then never did a damn thing with it. But if this driving review thing keeps up its momentum I’ll probably look at buying some hosting and setting up for real this time. It might actually work out if I have an actual purpose for a change.

KeymasterYes, and after yesterday’s multi-hour database server outage, I’m considering doing it sooner rather than later. I just have to move multiple sites, and would rather do an SOS redesign at the same time. As for where, I’m debating between going the shared hosting route again with Dreamhost, or putting AWS to work and hosting a site there. I think the second will cost me much more in the long run, but the infrastructure is amazing, and scaling up/down is a plus too.

ParticipantYeesh, I guess that outage happened while I was asleep or something. Would you still recommend WordPress as a fairly idiot-proof platform for clueless goobers like me?

KeymasterGoDaddy is pretty mindless, but I’ve just had a few random issues with them. But for $15 a month, it’s really hard to complain THAT much.

ParticipantDo you still recommend WordPress as the best platform though? If that’s even the right word. I don’t know the “jargon” for “websites” yet.

KeymasterYes. It’s easy, fairly powerful, and well supported. Plan on keeping it updated, but that’s super easy to do.

ParticipantRoger that Captain. Do you believe in all that “private hosting” information protection malarkey?
