KeymasterLink for the lazy? I have no idea what video you are talking about.

ParticipantI don’t know where it is! I will say that since the shutter is open for a shorter amount of time, the movement is clearer. Five times the frames being captured, basically, and when you take out the four other frames, the motion blur isn’t as apparent, and makes for a smoother picture. Where was that, Bucho?

KeymasterFrame rate and shutter speed are not that same sir, nor are they dependent on each other. You can (and would) have the same shutter speed operating at more frequent intervals, but that doesn’t have the effect you mention in and of itself. Someone has spewed malarky into your brain. Malarky I say.
More to the point of this thread, much of this is not directly applicable to content shot on digital, and even less of it in the case of some of the newer cameras that do not make use of a mechanical shutter.

ParticipantIt has to do with motion blur. Each frame has less blur on them. I just know it looked cool. Dammit, Bucho, where are you?

KeymasterI’m sure that their technique does… but the simple rules that you are trying like hell to bullshit your way through because you are a goddam liar aren’t enough to make that true. Where is your Bucho to save you now?
I’m sick. It sucks.

KeymasterFunny that your signature is applicable to this thread.

ParticipantIt is. Sorry that you’re sick.
I’m just full of shit though. I just know that Trumbull’s system makes 24 fps look smoother. And I like it.

ParticipantApply enough grease to anything and it gets smoother though. Y’see. Jello Pudding Pops. Theo.

ParticipantHERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
It was in the Rob Mini-Show Hobbit thread I linked to earlier in this thread for just such an occasion …

ParticipantHey you guys, remember that time we were all talking about how it’d be great to know what Gary Busey thinks about The Hobbit?

ParticipantThat was the best two minutes I’ve spent in quite some time. The man is a poet of little nothings, and he is a treasure among all the dung heaps we call men, and his genius should be trumpeted from the hilltops on small prairies.

KeymasterI wanna see video of the past-life Busey Hobbit.
January 15, 2013 at 6:48 pm #30785digitaltopia
ParticipantSo, I have to ask, is he being serious with that, or does he know he’s joking around?
January 15, 2013 at 7:09 pm #30754Version3
KeymasterI don’t think anyone really knows… such is the case with all things Busey.

ParticipantThe thing I don’t get is, most celebrities are crazy. They might not seem like it at first, but most celebrities end up being Mel Gibson. And yet people worship them endlessly, and act like the celebrities actually know what they’re talking about.
