Hey Bucho, don’t I owe you some files that are huge?
no, not files. flies.
My essence still senses Bucho's women.

ParticipantYeah, you don’t want to send tapes anyway, if they’re lost in the post you end up with nothing. Floppy discs are the way of the future.
Check out what happens when a compulsive editor gets a hold of SOS episodes. If only such a syndrome could be used for good.

KeymasterTHAT’S how many clips you cut from this one show? Hole ei krahp dood!

ParticipantI don’t so much cut clips out as cut the entire file into tracks, like it’s a comedy album, with cuts where new conversation topics or songs start. I also cut any conversation topic longer than about 6-7 minutes into two or more tracks. The ones I think might end up being good clips for the short shows or YouTubes are rated (1) or (2). The ones that I think probably aren’t clip-worthy (i.e. non-regulars might not “get” it) but a regular would still like it, I rate (3), and the behind the scenes type stuff that’s fine the first time but I probably wouldn’t re-listen to I rate (4)-(BS).
So when I feel like listening to some classic SOS and it’s cut like this it’s easy to jump into the middle of a show without having to fast forward or scroll or any of that malarky, and I’m right at the start of a conversation or topic immediately. I mostly swap out other podcasts but I always keep a bunch of SOS tracks on my mp3 players at all times because a lot of what you guys do stands up to multiple listens, like a good comedy album. If I’m walking up to the shop or washing the dishes or something that’s 10-20 minutes it’s not long enough to listen to any of the full podcasts I have loaded up I’ll either put a few songs on or some Switched On.

ParticipantI’ve done similar things for my own “greatest moments” shows but nothing to the extent of Sir Isaac Nucho over there. Could there be room in the SOS world for “tribute shows” like this created by fans. (only good creations not crap ones that no one laughs at but me and Bryan hates them all and makes me cry by saying bad things about them and sending me death threats and shit).
But my questions is out there? Is there a place for SOS tribute shows? (I want to listen to what others would choose and it could be a source of momentum)

ParticipantI’ve put together a few highlights shows, like 15-20 minute edits, but we had problems posting them. The problem is always finding the time. When I have time to edit a bunch the Captain is megabusy and we don’t get our shit together enough to get them posted, and when he has time I’m busy with other stuff.
I’m sure it will happen eventually though, and once it does it’ll be easier to promote and spread the word on this show which we’d love to see grow but which, as Bryan has said himself many times, isn’t exactly user-friendly for the majority of people in its raw, uncut state.
God bless Fairuza Balk.

ParticipantThat sounds like a great idea. I’d love to hear what you magnificent bastards decide on – it’d be fun.

KeymasterYes there is. I can create a new forum for them, and associate an RSS feed. You’d be able to upload them (I’d create a “contributor” group for this) and anyone could subscribe. It’s a great idea!
It would be even better if we could get more than just you two doing it.
Where the fuck is Octavious?

In the voice of Michael J. Fox or Marty McFly from the first Back to the Future, “Holy shit!”. I thought I was detailed. I like yours more.
I like titties.

ParticipantI would very much like to hear these files. Preferably right now.
August 6, 2010 at 2:22 pm #26871rob
ParticipantHey! Bucho! Leave those files alone!
Sorry…when I typed “Hey! Bucho!” I thought of the Floyd.
But seriously…I’m not listening to the files yet, and I believe it’s because no one’s sent me any. So, uh…you know…get to it, or something.

KeymasterWhat are we talking about… the cut versions of the show? Bucho? I think there may be some waiting on me that is going on, and if that’s the case, let me know ASAP. I had a rough schedule for like the last 6 weeks with an overwhelming number of projects. Things are settling down a bit, so I can catch up on this shit.
-and on releasing shows.

ParticipantThe main problem was that when I tried to upload the files to the server you gave me it wouldn’t work, and then you were too busy to check if that was due to my usual technical idiocy or some missing step in the instructions.
I’ll be back in proper internet land on Tuesday and if you have time we can get it on like Donkey Kong.
