But…it’s Guida vs. Goji, and Diaz vs. Kim, so they’re not fighting each other, but it’s still gonna be a kick ass night.

I like Kim’s sense of humour.

After Clay won, he said, “If you will it, Dude, it is no dream”. I lost it, since I was wearing my “I don’t roll on Shabbas” shirt.

Yeah, there’s never a dull moment when Clay Guida is on the scene.

And I was totally wrong about the main event, that was easily fight of the night. Frankie maybe was lucky to draw but his comeback was so outstanding my nose wasn’t put too far out of joint by the decision.

Speaking of noses out of joint …

    that’s what she said.

wow that nose was nasty. the edgar/maynard fight was a tough call. if it makes any sense, i don’t think frankie won or lost i just think that maynard didn’t beat the champ. yeah he took it to edgar in that first round, but you gotta give frankie credit for surviving and really putting on a show in the second round. i guess in the technical sense, maynard probably won but in the “yeah, you got heart kid” school of fighting (e.g. rocky) frankie won.

Master Seagal’s influence is expanding I see. It didn’t seem to hurt Anderson having him in his team, that’s for damn sure.

Yeah, my girl likes UFC a lot too and it’s a blessing and a curse sometimes, right? But overall I love that she’s into it. She even trained in grappling for a while and was due for her first fight until she broke her collar bone.

On one hand you can’t blame Vitor for not seeing it coming, because front kicks in muay thai are usually a defensive jab type of move to the midsection to maintain distance and you never see front head kicks, and a front kick to the head risks breaking your damn foot bones on some dude’s hard skull.

On the other hand that dude standing a few feet from you is Anderson Silva for fuck’s sake. Mofo is known for doing shit nobody else does. Not only that, he’s the guy with the speed and the accuracy to place the kick on the jaw where the risk of breaking the foot is much lower. That was a kick that even Kung Fu Panda would have been proud of.

this has amazing internet meme written all over it. but i’d hate to intrude on your original creative concept.

    plus i’m lazy.

Did you hear before the fight Joe saying Anderson fights like he’s in the Matrix? I knew I couldn’t be the only guy to come up with that, even though I brought it up regarding GSP. Hopefully someone less lazy than us makes some sweet video or photoshop of it.

I was watching Inside MMA on HDNet today, and in an interview with Anderson Silva, he credited Steven Seagal for the leg kick. Seagal said he was so proud of him, because he followed Seagal’s game plan perfectly (make Vitor bored, and then attack). Pretty cool!

I can’t remember what Joe was saying about that fight…?

i was actually laughing about that today thinking about him saying that.

after that kick to the face all i could remember was the names of the fighters. for the life of me i can’t think of the point joe was making.

also added parts 1 and 2 to that video.

I became a fan of Brian Ebersole after his dance with Chris Lytle. Nevermind the goofy chest hair, that dude is a hell of an entertaining and lively fighter. Coming in on short notice to beat Lytle is no mean feat, and he’s great in interviews too, really smart about analysing the game. Seeing our boy Mark Hunt clock up a KO was nice and Michael Bisping always brings some fun drama in one way or another these days. And BJ looked ready to either quit or cry after spending quality time underneath Jon Fitch in that third round, but I can’t blame him.

I missed Sanchez vs Kampmann, but I saw the result. And heard about the $160,000 bonuses they earned for Fight of the night. And saw this picture. Remember when Diego was pretty? Neither does he. Kampmann landed some devil hands all up in his shit.
