ParticipantI don’t know what that thing is that’s attacking Elvis Mitchell’s scalp but I do know it’s nice to see Big Roge back on the screen.

ParticipantWha … ??? Next you’ll be saying you want to keel haul Andy Rooney and take a cat-o-nine-tails to Larry King!
All the coolest people in the world have robo-voices these days. Hawking. Ebert. Robocop. Justin Beiber. The list is endless.

ParticipantI absolutely love Roger Ebert. There’s no professional critic working today that speaks the truth about movies like Roger does. Every now and then, he does a bad review (Speed 2 anyone?), but for the most part, he takes the intended audience into account when he gives a movie a rating, and I find that extremely rare, even though to me it should be sort of a no-brainer for any critic.
It’s good to see him back in control of At the Movies more than anything else.
I loved At the Movies growing up. I think any time you can gain a little movie knowledge while being entertained is always welcome. But again, I’m a movie dork. I subscribe to Cinefex, I read scripts and watch commentaries, and sometimes the making of a movie is more interesting to me than the movie itself…so to me, Ebert’s a lot like me: a bit of a movie snob, but overall just steeped in movie knowledge with a huge love of all kinds of movies.
So basically, Bing, you make fun of Roger, you’re fuckin’ with one of my peeps…you just watch yourself…

Participantwow. i loved watching at the movies.
the only issue i’ve ever had with ebert was a few months ago when he said that video games could never be art. other than that, cool dude. he’s got a commentary on the casablanca blu-ray that’s really good.
My essence still senses Bucho's women.

ParticipantWell, I agree with you Rob on that he is a movie snob, and I think that is why I hate him so much that and how ugly and mean he was to Gene Siskel when Gene was dying.
I don’t think there is any middle ground to be reached on this issue so, Gentlemen’s agreement to disagree?
