ParticipantMostly a combat sports show today, boys. I start off talking about Jon Jones, then I talk about my disinterest in May/Mac that’d probably piss off anybody that’s a boxing fan. I’m sure I go off the rails quite a bit, as per usual.

ParticipantHeck yeah Robby, between the Big Show and the Mini-shows you’ve been DELIVERING lately.

Participant17:48, 18:00, 18:18. That’s the good stuff right there. 21:17 too.
Meanwhile, DC definitely has a case, what with having solid scalps at HW like Barnett and Bigfoot on his resume as well as waxing some handy LHWs like Gus and AJ.
Demetrious, if anything, is underrated in the P4P conversation because folks seem to forget that he has 14 wins in the division above his weight class. And is undefeated in his weight class. I mean, sure Jon Jones has never lost, but he also has never tested himself against significantly larger opponents like DJ has over and over and over, so it seems goofy to ‘penalize’ DJ for those two losses when both were against much bigger guys.
I’ll always be biased toward the guys who proved their mettle in the deeper divisions though. Just by weight of population alone the 145, 155 and 170lb divisions will always be the deepest talent pools (unless I guess MMA gets massive in the Netherlands and Scandanavia I guess, where the average dude is up around 6′ or something). In the US and Brazil the average athletic man is 5’9″-5’10” and around 170lbs, which is pretty much why lightweight always has the most fighters, and the divisions above and below not far behind them, so the feats of the likes of GSP and Aldo, while not as spectacular as Jonny Bones, always play as more impressive to me. And that’s even without factoring in Jones’s ‘issues’.
But yeah, it sucks really bad that he’s cocked up again. Dude’s been my favourite fighter to watch for almost half a decade, but he’s been on the sideline for so much of that time I don’t know if I can get as excited about him ever again. Especially if they whack him with more than 2 years.

ParticipantFor some reason I didn’t see that you’d responded to this. Weird. But thanks, man – I’ll probably always do something like this, so it’s nice to know that someone still enjoys it (besides me!)
DJ is just beautiful to watch, almost like playing a video game, and he’ll always be way way up there if not the top P4P fighter. Dude’s just super impressive.
But Jones – he brought something strange and wonderful to the octagon. Angles and punches from seemingly nowhere. It’s just a shame to see all that thrown away. There’s got to be some more that we haven’t seen yet, and I thought he would be setting more trends in style, but it’s just so frustrating to see someone so talented be so stupid in every other part of his life.

Haven’t finished with the other show and this pops up. What a treat.

ParticipantTotally with you on this Rob, I do not feel sorry for assholes who get caught more than once. It’s the don’t touch the hot stove cliché.

Yeah, I was willing to give him another chance, but that was it. Unless they clear him completely, he should disappear.
And Bucho – went back and listened to what you’d referenced – all the people I argue with sound like idiots, huh?
