ParticipantOk, guys, this is a long one. I go off on all kinds of stuff, and it’s more stream of consciousness than anything, but I do talk about my health (maybe too long) and do some reviews. Please enjoy.
Oh, and to paraphrase, just do. Do for those who can’t.

ParticipantThanks for doing this Robby, and sorry to hear the guts issues still haven’t sorted themselves out. Looking forward to hearing you report on the PS VR stuff. I have no experience with any of that stuff yet, but it’s a fascinating as fuck time for this technology.
Speaking of how much you’ve been playing Battlefront, something Digitaltopia was doing for a while was posting game commentary videos on YouTube. I don’t know if you’d be in the mood to do anything like that considering what you were saying about being bummed out and not feeling funny lately, but I’d watch the shit out of a Rob-commentated Battlefront video or two. Although I guess that would require more alone time than you get lately, so perhaps it will just have to remain a dream.
Anyway, I have seen The Martian and really agreed HARD with what you said about it. Totally agree with 3.5 stars on the 4 star Rob scale.
The bit around 1:16:40 made me laugh. Good to hear you laughing too. Doing these solo shows are clearly good for your state of mind/soul. Do more!
I liked The Jungle Book A LOT too. Also agreed HARD with everything you said about it. Stoked you dug it so much.
The one I was hoping you’d be high on was Spectre, because I just haven’t been able to work up any enthusiasm to watch it. Loved Casino Royale, liked Quantum of Solace, got a little bored with Skyfall, and that downward trend just has me turning away every time Spectre rolls past on cable.

ParticipantBy the way, you got interrupted by the malfunction just as it seemed like you were about to talk about who you think are the best candidates for the next Bond, so hold that thought for your next episode if you can.

ParticipantYeah, the Nicole Kidman thing. It was just so suddenly raw and vulgar. But yeah…
And most of those movies were only watched because April wanted to watch them, too…but I’m starting to tire of watching YouTube videos, so maybe it’s time to get caught up.
I thought Battlefront and me would be pretty fun on YouTube, and I think I’d probably be better at hiding my disgust at the way I’ve been playing lately. But, I’m not crazy about all of the proprietary stuff for recording. We’ll see though, it may be a possibility.

ParticipantProprietary stuff in terms of copyright? I’m not the expert, but from what I can tell YouTube is full of gameplay videos of all sorts of games. My brother does Metal Gear Solid vids and Digi does them for some other similar game I’m too dumb to remember and neither ever had any copyright troubles as far as I know.

ParticipantNah, in terms of what sort of mic to use. Although, the camera that you use with the VR has a mic on the front of it, so I just have to have time to test. We’ll see how this goes. The cool thing is, when you set it all up, it can go up as a live show to YouTube which includes a chat function, and the PS4 will “read” the comments. It’s definitely interesting, and could be really fun, but we’ll see.

ParticipantAh gotcha, that makes more sense. Yeah, it seems like they try to make it pretty easy and user-friendly to publish stuff these days once you have the hardware sussed out.
