Enjoyed it Robby. Probably going to miss you talking about the leaking and the itching when it’s all tidied up.

You might even be on the table right now as I write this getting all fixed and stuff. Good times buddy.

Not sure how long until he hops on and updates things from his perspective, but I can tell you that we got the update when he got out of surgery, and when he was moved to his room. It went well, he was doing well and he was showing some love to the morphine button.

Yeah, this is tough stuff. Since there was so much scar tissue, a lot of cleanup had to be done, so I’m really really sore. Of course, they’re wanting me to get up and walk, and that’s just tough to want to do.

Good news is that the surgery supposedly went really well, and things started working almost immediately. There are many that have issues getting certain parts of their body woken up after surgery, so that’s pretty good. The nurse I just talked to thinks that I may still be able to go home tomorrow. That seems weird, but apparently I’ve made some progress.

NICE! Hopefully the pain settles down sooner rather than later. Either that or they let you take that morphine machine home.

Dude…the pain. It’s crazy – I guess because of all the cleanup and shit that needed to be done, along with the reconstruction of abs/abdominal wall shit, this pain isn’t more intense than it was in the past, but it’s longer lasting. So like, the last surgery was like Zebra Stripe, and this one’s been like Extra. I dunno.

I took myself off of the pain medications because I do not like having the iq of a stapler. Yeah, I’m paying for it a bit, but I only had a few left anyway, so I just expedited the having to get used to ibuprofen and shit by about a day.

Without going into super-detail (think I’ll save that for a future mini-show), getting used to going to the bathroom like a normal human has been interesting. I envisioned getting really frustrated because I thought I’d be shitting myself constantly. That’s not really the case, but I’m going a LOT. I’m sure things are still transitioning, but damn, man, it’s kinda frustrating.

I’m all over the place though – I’m mad, I’m sad, I’m tired, I’m mad again – I’m sure April’s ready for this to be done too.

Thanks for the update Robby, been wondering how you’re doing. Sounds like the test of all tests if you ask me. (Bonus points if you can name the movie that’s from.)

Yesterday was one of the worst days for some reason. My back was really hurting because I was compensating for the lack of strength in my abs, and that mixed with having to go to the bathroom every 45 minutes was just bad. Something happened overnight though – I feel pretty good today. I think my system is actually starting to slow down, so that frustration is going away, and I’ve been laying on a heating pad, so my back feels better, too.

My stomach though – it’s bananas, man, it just looks fucking weird. There are just as many weird divots and waves with the way that it was sealed up with the fat and all. I can’t WAIT until I can start working to tighten this shit up.

I’m 4 months from turning 40, so of course it’s ridiculous to think about taking a fight or something, but I WILL start training again, I WILL be able to do spinning head kicks, I WILL NOT STOP. I can’t explain to you the feeling – it’s a defiant anger, just pure white hot determination. I fucking HATE what’s been taken from me, and I will not stop until I have what I want. This surgery was the last stumbling block, the last barrier for me to do what I want. Now that I’ve survived it, it’s time to finally start looking ahead. It’s exciting stuff.

    That’s the spirit Rob Michaels!

As a great man once said, “It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”
