This is a fairly short show, only 25 minutes. I give a quick health update, talk briefly about UFC 187, and then I bitch and moan about something I’ve been dealing with over the last year. So, I guess, mostly, this is a show for Bucho?

Yeah, I heard Weidman on Ariel’s show, that was great. Watched the sit-down hotel room interview too, and the Serra Longo interviews. I’ll listen to those New York guys do interviews all day. The last couple of times Al Iaquinta has been on to co-host MMA Junkie Radio I’ve listened to the whole ep twice. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, Weidman needing to dump. That was amazing.
But holy shit the hyperbole and “literally” thing. I get you, but the way I’ve dealt with them is to lean way into both of them, especially online. I get hyperbolic with my heavy mis-usage of “literally” just because it entertains me. At least part of it is probably from watching Rob Lowe’s character on Parks & Rec do the same thing. I’ve probably done it here a few times. I use “bro” and “totally” (or even “totes”) and mindless bollocks like that too. I guess in a way I started using them ironically to take the piss out of people using them un-selfaware-dly, but then I got bored with irony and just use them because the silliness of them entertains me and I find it hard to take anything I write online too seriously.
I agree whole-heartedly with “Everything happens for a reason” being inane to the point of offensiveness though.
Anyway, thanks for recording Robby, it’s always fun to hear how shit’s going down in Robworld (it’s like Waterworld, only less wet, but with an equal amount of Jeanne Triplehorn). Hope you find a way to deal to the break out thing. I get a big painful one sometimes but almost always on my back, and not to the extent you’re describing so I’m not much help on this one. Unlike on all those other ones on which I was totally helpful.

I guess because this is the only social interaction I really do online, I couldn’t see myself using “totes” in regular conversation, although now it almost seems like a challenge.
Really my whole point is that when people open their stupid mouth, they should actually think about what they’re saying. It really annoys me that I’ve caught myself saying “literally” just because I hear it so much.
