Yeah, I confused them myself for a long time. It almost makes it worse that Rogen was in Paul with Pegg and Frost so there’s some kind of crossover in my brainbox.

Or if you are still keen to play with the video stylings for the random road recordings, as opposed to the focuses road reviews, post the audio as well. Then while I listen to the audio I can note the hightlights sections and when I get time to sit down to watch something I can skip to those sections on the video timeline. It’s the best of both worlds and what I always wished for from SOS too. Man what I would have given to see every Bryan explosion in all its 720p glory.
Because I think I may have spoken too soon when I said I’d watch a 26 minute vid from each of you every week. Or at least at the time I didn’t expect to be spending so much of my spare time having no time to watch stuff because I’m making my own. On the other hand I refuse not to finish watching Lunch With Garza and to watch Bryan’s other driving video and to watch Jerry’s latest offerings. And if you do random road recordings I will watch those too. If you guys are going to make them I have to watch them. It’s just that it might be Christmas before I get to something you made in September.
Of course the minute you post a Road Review they’ll always jump directly to the front of the queue. I haven’t lost sight of the entire reason for my existence.

Oh yeah, good point, I shouldn’t have put it like that. What I meant was take it easy and have fun with it and don’t worry about a thing, it’s all going to be all right.

Did you at least get a chance to see the movie? I liked everything except the main character … yeeeeeeaaah … but I’ve heard from other peeps I respect who didn’t have as much of a problem with him and enjoyed the whole dealio. Pretty curious to hear your take.

Also, I was checking out some other video reviews because I’ve never really watched them before – apart from Red Letter Media – and it’s probably a good thing to get some idea of the quality of work out there because I’ve just hared off into this without having any idea about what else is out there in this field.

I’m about 75% certain we could at least match the quality of that in terms of insight and laughs. I think you at least can match it for presentation Robby, but until I get a GoPro or iPhone or some other better camera or learn some colour correction mine isn’t going to look top notch. Which is why I cunningly hide behind clips as much as possible.
They also do a couple of things I’ve thought of – separate spoiler and non-spoiler episodes, branching out into TV reviewing – but they don’t do other things I’ve thought of, like filming a review on the International Space Station or doing a review while being trampled by camels.

I just realized my quick-cut, high energy approach is pretty much an Edgar Wright sensibility. Only with about 0.03% of the talent to execute it.

I forgot to comment on yours. I actually prefer the longer version. Maybe I have less of an attention span problem than the ret of the Internet.
I hope people do prefer the longer versions. The shorter versions are there to not scare off new folks who haven’t been charmed yet. At least that’s the theory.
Speaking of which, here are THREE finished versions of the The World’s End review. The longer two are basically the same as the other two I posted earlier, but with a couple of graphics tweaks (brought back a title graphic and added in a graphic for the score). The short-ass ADD one is the short-ass ADD one. I guess in a way it’s meant to act as a trailer, so peeps will give it a look in under 2 minutes and find the link to the longer review(s). Fuck knows if there’s any merit to the idea, but I’m going to take a run at it. Also, they’re now all spiffy 720p versions.

And I thought I had put out too many videos to keep up with. Bucho isn’t even limited to making new videos. He’s making new and remaking them too!
It’s because I’m self-conscious that mine are lacking in size compared to yours Captain. It’s video penis envy … driving … me to attempt make up for in volume what I lack in length.

I don’t know if I “enjoy” the editing so much as it’s the storm I have to fly through to get to the paradise of the finished work of art.
Meanwhile, a kind of stunning development might be in the making. For the WOLVERINE and WORLD’S END reviews the music I used was some of the very few copyright-free songs I have which happen to be from a couple of bands which feature a guy by the name of Nick Nunziata, who happens to be the owner of one of the longest running movie news/reviews sites, CHUD.com, which happens to be the main website I’ve used for movie news and reviews and forums-yapping since 2006 (coincidentally enough, a site I only discovered after former SOS fan Scat told me to listen to their podcast).
On their forums they have a section called Shameless Links & Self Promotion for members to pimp bands or podcasts or blogs or short films or projects just like this one, so I started up a thread there for Bucho’s Road Reviews last night. I’ve been friendly with Nick for a number of years and so I knew he would have no problem with me using the music, but what I didn’t expect was that he would like the videos enough to say there’s a chance I could run them as a contributor to CHUD’s main site. In fact they tried offering their own video content for a while not too long ago and it didn’t get the response they hoped for so I figured they’d shut the door on hosting video content there.
So anyway, I don’t want to put the cart before the horse here or anything, but these could start gaining some kind of audience faster than I thought they would. Or it could be that you guys and Nick are the only people in the world who find them entertaining. But if it’s the former you better believe I’ll be linking to your reviews on my own videos Robby. I already have links in the notes of my THE WORLD’S END reviews to your review.
This could either be great, or it could be yet another project I crash and burn on, but either way … fun times.
