Question: what camera do you have that you are sticking on your dashboard control surface?
It’s a Panasonic HDC-HS9 I think I bought in late 2008 stuck to the dashboard control surface with duct tape. At one extremely thrilling point you can actually hear me peeling off the duct tape from the previous session when I tried to record a review for Elysium earlier in the day.
I tried setting it up on the flexi-leg tripod I used to take forward facing footage with but it limits the positions in which I can place the cam. This one was a bit of an experiment in framing, trying to get the action out the back window to be as much of a feature as my yapping mug. It blurs out a couple of times and I lean out of frame at some moments but it mostly worked better than I thought it would.

Ah, so it’s a hard drive recorder. I just wondered if A) you were actually having to capture this all from a DVCAM or similar and B) what it was, because it was doing a good job with the lighting range. You can see out the back pretty darn well. The focus thing was poop though.
I’m posting a few things I recorded today (is this all we are all going to do now?) on the way in, and at lunch. A question I have is: if I recorded something that was noisy, and my voice was somewhat quiet… would you all still want me to post it?

Yeah, focus poop aside I liked how it came out too. I probably won’t use that angle for doing reviews but if I do anymore of these random things I just might.
