ParticipantWow. I wonder if he hasn’t done stand-up in a while — heckling’s just part of the job. If you can’t hack it without throwing out racial slurs…
Just wow.

ParticipantWhen I saw that video, I was in awe and shocked.

ParticipantGood God.
The man as well leave the country now. That kind of shit won’t go away with an apology. Maybe if it had been said in a different way it could be salvaged, but that was just hateful.
I really would not have thought someone with his experience in entertainment would’ve snapped like that.
This story will be around for awhile.

KeymasterYeah, his apology isn’t doing too well.

ParticipantI almost don’t like bringing stuff like this up because usually all my paler friends do or say something to piss me off, but I’m glad the board members here are classy. What i’m trying to say is……. I love you guys…..

ParticipantAll I can say is I’m sure his explosion would have been more justified if the video went back earlier to reveal the cause. Putting his choice of words to the side, because that’s just politics, and I’m sure those guys must have been disruptive on an epic scale. When you go to a comedy club, unless the comic is talking to you directly, you shut your fucking mouth.

ParticipantThat’s the thing. On the Today show, the 2 guys in the audience came with there friends a little late and Michael Richards blew up. Like Rob said heckling’s just part of the job. Sinbad said that the audience pays to see the comedian, so they want to heckle or throw stuff on the stage its part of the job. Bottom line: “Kramer” went over the line.

KeymasterNo matter how the guys were acting, his choice to flip out about it and target a race was monumentally stupid. He should have told them they were inconsiderate assholes, and that the crowd didn’t pay money to hear their stupid ass comments…. but Richards made the worst choice he could have, and I don’t see why he should be forgiven for it. He’s not sorry he did it, He’s sorry it became so public.
Now Sinbad, he shouldn’t be allowed on camera anymore. I don’t think anyone should forgive him for pretty much any his movies or “comedy”. He wasn’t the only comedian there that night. I did like Sinbad’s idea of Richards showing up on Sunday which is known to be black night there… let him try to apologize then.

Just like we need Shaq to do another “Kazaam.” [/sarcasm]

ParticipantThat’s what I base people on, not race. I either call them: stupid, idiot, moron, asshole and motherfucker or what ever comination of words that I can think of.
It just pop up on CNN.com, now Tom Green is defending Kramer.

ParticipantI defend a comic who loses it and blows up at a resilient assholes who feel the need to interrupt shows and ruin sets. The way he personally went about it, well, that was his choice and it does sound like he’s got some pent-up racial issues (which isn’t very uncommon for a guy his age). I can judge it by saying it wasn’t an incredibly creative rebuttal, but hey, neither is, “That ain’t necessary!” fifteen times. Attempting to justify his choice was a mistake in itself though, because that was even more awkward to watch.
My favorite clip of a comic snapping at hecklers still has to be these:

ParticipantThose are great videos.
I can’t believe that hecklers are being represented by a lawyer that use racial slurs herself. Calling Clarence Thomas a “uncle tom” and Arnold a “Nazi sympathizer”. Die you media whore!

ParticipantYes, Bill Hicks. “I pray to you GOD, to kill these fucking people!” Classic.
