ParticipantI’ve had fuck all to do with Apple but even I salute that guy.

ParticipantWhilst I am sorry to hear the news and feel for his family and friends, I really don’t seem to share the views of the majority.
The way I see it is that he is responsible for some of the damned finest tech that anyone could ever dream of owning. He is also responsible for pricing this damned fine tech at a cost that is far beyond my means.
I don’t understand why Microsoft can make mediocre at best computers that are tempermental and don’t run properly, but at affordable prices can be deemed as evil. Whilst Apple can make beautiful equipment that works more often than not, but is priced beyond the means of the average man, and they are deemed as almost Godly.
Especially when Apple have now managed to accumulate more money in the bank than the United States Of America can.
I know that most hold Steve Jobs in such a high regard. It’s just a sentiment I can not share.
RIP Steve Jobs, and anybody else that died

when i was younger, and really into hardware, i used to love the challenge of getting my Windows machine “just right”. i was a hardcore Windows guy my whole life up until 2008.
now, the amount of time and money that i save with my Mac by not having to worry about troubleshooting and maintenance more than makes up for the difference in price for me. (not that there aren’t problems. but it’s a completely different type.)
i respect what you’re saying and can completely relate. i’m just giving you my perspective as to how i’m able to accept the premium price.

ParticipantDon’t get me wrong. If I could afford it, I’d have had them Apples coming out of my ears a long time ago! But I can’t.
It would just be nice to have had the chance to respect the bloke in the same way as so many others. I blame the guy who set the prices and wish he would drop dead….oh….he just did! 🙂
