I just didn’t see it. The whole time I was sitting there I was asking myslef what’s the big deal? Why should I give two shits for Captain Jackass Sparrow? He was a dick, a deusche, a prick. It was a decent movie, but it wasn’t as good as Spidey 2. Damn you Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom for taking the top spot from a deserving movie. But on the other hand those creature designs were fucking cool though..

And why is this movie the highest opening movie ever? Any stats?

I haven’t seen it yet, but am very excited to. A good well-made popcorn flick is in order for the summer.

A big opening just means the hype department did a good job; it doesn’t follow that the movie is good or bad…

Its mainly because Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom…dam them to hell.

I’m going to see this tonight, I throw in my $0.02 tommorow.

I will give them credit though, the creatures looked AMAZING and maybe I didn’t get it because I haven’t seen the first one. But it was way too long, like length will make it more epic than it is.

It’s also because of inflation. Every year it costs a little more to go see these movies so the box office of this movie compared to the greatest movie of all time JAWS doesn’t really tell you how many people saw each one. It definitely is too long, over 150 minutes of pretty much mindless action. Orlando and Kiera are crap again but the bad guys are awesome, especially Davy Jones’ octopus head. Jack Sparrow, you either love him or hate him I guess, in this one he started out a bit lame but comes good after the first third. The movie around him has a curious lack of momentum.

Here’s my 2 cents…WTF…the way it ended reminded me of the shitty Matrix Reloaded ending. Sort of like, here, have 6 new plot points…and lets go nowhere with any of them. Granted it works well with a sequel but still I fell like they were all, look at our crazy CGI and shit.

I felt empty at the end. Like nothing happened at all.

Thats a good point, at the end it felt like nothing was accomplished at all and the hype department did a do its job well. I bet it sucks to work there. POC3 was filmed at the same time I think so maybe they were like we can leave them hanging cuz in 6 months a new one will be out *cough*Matrix* cough*.

Oh and off topic Newman howd you make a gif out of your userbars?

Sorry, but the Matrix was not the first to do this. Even Back To The Future II and III were filmed at the same time and released 6 months apart.

Its been awhile since I’ve watched them so I didnt really remeber 2 leaving som uch on the table for 3. The MAtriyx just came to my mind because 2 ended in a, will be continued way. Speaking of back to the future, have you heard about the guy who visited all the sites from where they filmed the movies? Lemme see if I can find a link…..
