Holy shit that second one with the breathing motions is freaky. I feel fairly confident predicting that WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!

I’m glad that the majority of the science surrounding this seems to be more about exercising their ability to mimmic human motion, rather than finding ways to replace it. –Unfortunately, throughout human history, there’s always been some evil fuck stick waiting in the shadows to find a way to use it as a weapon, or a way to control people. Yeah… maybe making them look more human is not the way to go? They certainly don’t need to make a robot breathe to make a more human-like prothetic arm.
I think I read somewhere about this particular robot, which is modeled on an actual person, that they tried to use it to fool a few of the guy’s friends, and it worked.
Going along with someone using it like a weapon, that was one of my first thoughts. “Oh, so now Japan’s going to build a robot army.” Yeah if they could make them look and act just like people, that wouldn’t be good. Then we’d have a bunch of new-generation Cylons instead a bunch of Daleks wheeling around trying to touch your pee-pee.
but they can still have a “touch your pee-pee” sub-routine, right?
