ParticipantThey opened an IMAX right down the street a couple months ago and I have been avoiding it because there is a local theater I enjoy. But we broke down and saw karate kid 2 weeks ago (fantastic homage to the original film) and couldn’t wait to go back. The theater is awesome.
So we saw knight and day this weekend. I just got to say, for such a crazy sob in real life, Tom cruise can act. He and Cameron diaz are magic in this film. The movie is a lot of fun and much better than I was expecting.
Yes the names are half capitalized because the iPad only corrected the first names so get off my back.

ParticipantYou’re so, so right about Katie Holmes’s fella. He might be loopier than a slinky but he packs a helluva punch when it comes to pure screen charisma. Diaz I can take or leave. In fact sometimes she’s downright annoying, but I’m still looking forward to checking this movie out.

KeymasterYeah, I can’t think of a movie in the last 10 years where she isn’t pretty annoying to some degree. I don’t think she can act, and her odd features haven’t had her in the “hot” category since The Mask. I seriously believe she hasn’t been less than annoying since There’s Something About Mary. I don’t find her to be a reason to not watch a movie, but I can’t say that I particularly like her either.
Do want to see Knight and Day quite a bit though. Tried a week ago, but gave in and watched Grown Ups with the wife instead. If you’ve read any reviews, it’s about what you’d expect out of it. Just feels like it’s going to get going with the funny at any moment, but just… doesn’t. Selma needs to dance naked all about my face and crotch, 8hrs a day, every day.

ParticipantHey you guys, I finally watched it and I agree with you Lark. It’s not particularly special or memorable but it is a fair bit of silly fun and the two leads are really good together.
