Just noticed

I’ve seen Pulp Fiction dozens of times, but I just noticed something that’s going to annoy me forever now. In the opening seen “Honey Bunny” says

Any of you fucking pricks move, and I’ll execute every mother fucking last one of ya

but later, when we are dealing with Jules in the diner deciding to quit the life, and we cut to the robbery she says

Any of you fucking pricks move, and I’ll execute every one of ya mutha fuckahs

I know it’s insignificant, but could the editor REALLY not have just used the same cut from the opening? I’t been 87 hours since the audience has seen it, the will be no more aware that they are reseeing the same shot, than you think they were of exact wording. Trouble is, on repeat viewing… this fucking annoys me. It’s even more annoying, because it starts out with the EXACT same shot, we just cut halfway through her dialog. Does this also now mean that the reason the shot is frozen for the last few words of her scene during the opening, is because her dick pops out or something? Was the shot ruined? Now I’m annoyed, and I’ve got mystery to deal with. Any why then if we didn’t want the harder rating for staring at Mrs Plummers surprise penis popping, didn’t we just use the dialog that we are cutting to later in the movie anyway? Freeze it a tad sooner, and get the same stupid line the way we will later. This is goofy.

Also, the dialog in this movie is supposed to sound like smart people, but in SOOO many cases is sounds like dumb asses trying to sound like smart people. Particularly with Uma Thurman. I find this to be try of all of Quentin’s movies.

This was intentional. Quentin was trying to imply that as different parties view the same occurrence, their memory of that occurrence is different. He explained this at some point, I can’t remember when. Maybe it’s on the commentary, but it was definitely intentional.

I call that back pedaling. If it was intentional, it would be more apparent, and would have included more overlaps for the opportunity. I call it an annoying mistake. Fuck him.
