    This is from Andrew Stanton (Pixar) from a series of pulp sci-fi novels written in the 1910s. I only know that because of Wikimapedia, I’ve never read them.

    Looks like it could be a lot of fun. Nothing mind-blowing, but a nice sci-fi pulp adventure from a Pixar dude could be just what the doctor* ordered. Although it’d probably be better with Shia LeBoef in the lead. Right Rob?

    Hey, I don’t mind Shia – I like him ok, but Transformers is…well, you know.

    John Carter looks interesting. It could be absolute shite, it could be great. There’s a very fine line that you have to toe to do a movie like this, and it’s hard to see which way it will go. Cautiously optimistic, I think…

    Yeah, it would be easy for an old-fashioned story like this to fall into a Green Lantern like black hole. Or it could be awesome like Cowboys and Aliens.
