ParticipantFunny stuff Ori.
In my opinion, yes the copyright holder can do whatever they want with their property, but other than updating the special effects to make them look appropriate at higher resolutions, as they did with the Star Trek original series DVD release, I think it shows greater integrity to leave the past work as it is, recognizing it represents what the situation was and what and where the creator was at that time, and that changing it around later is disingenuous.
I personally would have rather he taken the Willy Wonka approach. If you want to do it differently, instead of changing the original piece by piece, just redo the whole thing. Then people can choose which they like, or buy both. I own both Charlie and Willy Wonka, and enjoy each in different ways. Had they gone back and re-edited Charlie instead, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it that much.
As far as I’m concerned, Lucas is only concerned with sitting on the floor with his legs up while Spielberg shoves fist-fulls of cash in his anus. Every day.

i love the FX updates for Star Trek. i hadn’t watched any of them in years and bought them on an impulse without knowing about the added FX. my mind was blown and i couldn’t have been happier. after all the years of Paramount milking us fans over the different releases (hmmm, just like George. now i feel like a hypocrite.) they really did a good job with their treatment of the original series.
My essence still senses Bucho's women.

ParticipantYeah, I haven’t picked them up yet, but I will someday. Oh yes, someday.
