So, today, a Public Enemy track came on my iPod as it was doing a random shuffle. It was Night Of the Living Baseheads from the Nation Of Millions album.
Now this song starts with a speech that I always had assumed was Malcom X or Martin Luthor King (nearly wrote Rodney King there….he’s only famous for getting his ass whupped!). I’ve just found out that the speech is actually by Khalid Abdul Muhammad….yeah, I know! How stupid of me!
Anyway, the speech goes:
“Have you forgotten, then when we were brought here, we were robbed of our names. Robbed of our languages. We lost our religions our cultures our Gods. “
And I then altered the next line and shouted out loud
“…and many of us by the way we act, I even lost my keys!”
Don’t know why, but this tickled me….and I’m still laughing at it. And in my mind, it’s as if I heard it coming from you guys…or maybe that’s just me!

BIG JOBBIES
