Yeah, it will get more popular, but I think there will always be physical media, for the most part.

Physical media for backup and saving, yeah I’d agree. Delivery, nope. We are too much of an on demand society… HD over Fiber is a finished technology waiting for widespread implementation.

But how many pay-per-view movies have you ever bought? I’ve never bought one.

That’s only because there are other ways to get them. And I have, about 20 total ever. iTunes, is another story. I’ve bought TV shows I don’t want to wait for, and I’ve bought lots of music. I think we are totally headed here. You are thinking about the old model though Rob… when bandwidth permits, you’ll pay a subscription (like you do with BBV now) but you’ll just choose from the catalog and stream the whole title right then. You saw the merit of the subscription model at work, even if it wasn’t implemented very well.

Yeah, I know, but don’t you think it’s still 5 or so years away? I want that shit now!

I don’t think it’s quite here yet, but I don’t think we’re far off. I’d say sooner than 5 years.

3-5 years, but the question was do we think we’ll be there in 5 to 10 years. Or did I misunderstand?
