The kind of “you can’t do that” cool shit we always see in movies is so about to be “everyday”… it’s weird. So the video below talks about robotic cameras that match movement to a master camera allowing the “bullet time” effect to be rendered out like 1 minute later. They’ll of course speed this up, add more cameras and 2 years from now in the Superbowl, this will be working. Then 2 years after that, you’ll have handhelds that can be linked up, or even phones that can shoot a huge field of view, and will crop and sync to a view like this. –2 years after that you get stupid 3D panning from security systems to see what someone put in a bag in the middle of a crowded store (removing other people is already a reality as well). Crazy. Granted in Enemy of the State we were supposed to be closer to present time. But still… seeing that movie then, this seemed “far” off. This is something we will see everyday in our lifetimes, even in broadcast and amateur video. It’s nutty.

If I had to listen to that narrator for more than five minutes I’d likely spontaneously transform into an icy bounce-house.

That’s all well and good but how long till I can watch porn shot that way?

Or even just footage of Eva Mendes walking? (YES BRYAN, YOU HEARD ME, I FIND EVA MENDES ATTRACTIVE, GET OFF MY BACK ABOUT IT!!! Or write a hate blog about it. I miss those.)

I don’t get this bit. Won’t you always need a whole array of cameras to get this effect? How can a single lens shoot a huge enough field of view to accomplish this? And why is my brain too tiny to get what you mean when my skull is so large?

It sounds like a robot programmed with a mild Aussie or NZ accent.

In other words, like the sexiest thing in all of existence.
