Patrick Swayze being treated for pancreatic cancer; doctor says he’s well enough to work
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Patrick Swayze is being treated for pancreatic cancer but is doing well enough to continue working, his representative said Wednesday.
The “Dirty Dancing” actor has a very limited amount of disease and appears to be responding well to treatment, according to Dr. George Fisher, Swayze’s physician. Fisher’s prognosis was included in a statement released Wednesday by Swayze’s representative, Annett Wolf.
“Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects,” the statement said.
It also said earlier reports that Swayze had a matter of weeks to live were exaggerated. “All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.”
Swayze, 55, has two films in the works: the movie “Powder Blue,” and a television movie titled “The Beast,” according to the Web site imdb.com. Both are scheduled for release this year.March 6, 2008 at 3:15 am #13091rob
ParticipantOh, I read the five weeks prognosis, and thought that it was real.
I then said, out loud, at work, “Five more weeks and we’ll be rid of that dancing bastard.”
Leave it to me, the insensitive taboo-spouting prick.

KeymasterI like him, he’s not particularly good at any of the “acting” he’s done, but I still just kinda like him. I think he’s probably a decent guy as well (at least at his age now). I saw the story and said “aw, poor guy”… then immediately imagined how cheesy his funeral would be with “I Had the Time of My Life” playing and some pallbearers run his casket down a carpet and some guy lifts it into the air, before dumping it in a hole the ground.

ParticipantAnd, and…
As they’re deciding where his plot will be in the cemetary, his brother says, “Nobody puts Swayze in a corner.”
Then C. Thomas Howell comes out of nowhere during the funeral and puts on a bandanna around his mouth, shouts “Wolverines!” and then disappears behind a cloud of gunfire.
Then Val Kilmer comes out and says, “You’re still dangerous, but you can be my wingman anytime.”
Louis Gossett, Jr. steps out from the crowd and says, “You weren’t in any of his movies, shithead!”
Val Kilmer: “Oh yeah, then why are you here?”
Louis Gossett: “I thought Jason Gedrick died.”
Val Kilmer: “Who the fuck is Jason Gedrick?”
Louis Gossett: “We were in Iron Eagle! You know, that shitty F-16 movie that came out 4 months before Top Gun! But not nearly as successful!”
Keanu Reeves: “I am an F…B…I…Agent!”
Michael Keaton: “I’m Batman!”And I’m retarded.

KeymasterThanks, I told Jessica I was trying to make you laugh when I wrote that. She laughed too at least.

ParticipantUsually men that dance kinda irk me in some unknown way. But I gotta go with the Cap on this, I kinda like Swayzee. Some of his gay movies like Roadhouse need to die but I hope he is ok.
And Bryan, Rob that was some seriously funny shit from BOTH of you…
(although my favorites were nobody puts Swayze in a corner and who the fuck is Jason Gedrick)
I’m sure in treatment swayzee has said “pain don’t hurt” at least once to make his big boobied nurse giggle.

ParticipantI’m afraid I never really cared for the guy.

ParticipantNot fond of his acting but cancer is some thing I would not wish on anyone….but is it wrong that I thought of these NIN lyrics when I read Rob’s first post:
“Your time is tick-tick-ticking away” [/end insensitivity]
But all the same it sucks.

ParticipantRob, pulling out the Iron Eagle. Call me weird, I liked that shifty F-16 movie. Then Jason Gedrick was in that tv movie “The Last Don”
