ParticipantHot damn.
I liked Children of Men and Y Tu Mama Tambien but I wasn’t as hot on them as the general geekiverse was but yet I respect the shiznit out of this guy for his visual adventurousness alone, and this looks spectacularrrrrrrrrrrr*.

ParticipantLooks like that movie where they were left floating in the middle of the ocean….but in space.

ParticipantThis one’s just the one scene, kind of like the new How To Train Your Dragon 2 trailer, but in space and terrifying.
Well, mostly terrifying. I’m so used to seeing/hearing Sandra Bullock play goofy that all her desperate utterances here unfortunately have a faint comedic tinge.

KeymasterThat shot where it’s framing her spinning then slides in front of her to track her spin is spectacular! I dunno if this will end up being as awesome as it seems like it could/should be. But the trailer nearly makes my palms sweaty already. I need to see it in theaters.

ParticipantI wonder if it would be good in 3d. Hope the movie is good. Have no idea if this is the whole movie or what.

One thing it seems like Cuaron guarantees these days is even if the story doesn’t engage there will at least be some fancypants camera stuff to impress you.

KeymasterHere’s a longer look at it that I ran across today.

ParticipantMy wife got us tickets to a day-early preview (Wed our time) but I had to go and get a chest infection the day before like a sickly foooool so she went with her sister instead and liked it. Hoping to get a peek at the movie this weekend for myself.
97% on Metacritic. 98% on RT. How can I not go in overhyped?

KeymasterYeah, I do want to see this one. I want to see it with my eye socket fillers.

ParticipantWe watched this today in 3D. Really cool. I liked that the 3D wasn’t over the top and that some places where they could have screwed it up, they didn’t.
I like titties.

ParticipantI still haven’t seen it, and I’m sorta disappointed in myself because of it.

ParticipantYeah, same here. From the chance to see it in a special preview to it being three weeks later and I still haven’t seen it but everyone else I know has. My excuse is the same excuse for being tardy with the road reviews, which is that I’ve been manfully renovating our kitchen to all hours of the day and night. Because that’s what Sandra Bullock would have wanted.
