I just learned that Street Hawk is about to be released on dvd. That was one of the shows me and my brothers loved to watch as kids, along with the liked of Knight Rider, CHiPs and Airwolf.

Then, while checking out Airwolf info I stumbled across a link to Tales Of The Gold Monkey, a show I’d completely forgotten about. As a fan of 1930s Indiana Jones type adventure and amphibious planes it was a match made in heaven for me. Do any of you guys remember it?

Apparently it’s been out on dvd in Australia for the last year or so and in the US since last month. Tales Of The Gold Monkey was so awesome they even made that Disney cartoon show based on it with Baloo as a cocky island-based float plane pilot and a couple of other Jungle Book characters. Can’t say the same for Knight Rider or Automan. Or Baywatch.

No, I don’t remember that one at all. The one I never hear about anymore that I remember well is “Automan”. What a terrible show. I loved it then.

Haha, love the Heather Locklear poster in the cubical, we used to have this poster hanging in our room as kids. I know recently we talked about throwing darts from the first floor, into our second story window to hit that poster… this is the one we were talking about.

I watched automan, too. Wow. Awesome throwback thread.

You guys remember manimal? Or the phoenix?

And there was a really good time travel show with a kid and an adult but the kid acted grown up and the adult acted like a kid. One was named phineas bogg but I can’t remember the name of the show. They used an old fashioned compass to time travel.

I remember Voyagers but it wasn’t a show I watched. The only time travel show I watched was Quantum Leap. It was about a guy called Quantum Leap who was a scientist who jumped around in time.

I thought it was a show about a guy with different conclusions…that he could JUMP to…

And that he hoped that the next leap, would be the leap home.

What a bummer of a series finale! Dude was SPOILER ALERT dead!

Oh yeah, I think you’re right Robby. And I don’t think his name was Quantum Leap either. That was just his nickname.

    Also, boo yaaaaa …

I’d totally forgotten about that dumb robot. But I never forgot about their awesome helicopter.

i used to work with a guy that made something like this. he was in a car accident and used the insurance money to develop it.

the building we worked in burned down and i haven’t talked to him in years.

I didn’t like any of the stupid helicopter shows.

Hey Rob, I seriously never finished the Quantum Leap series, I just got bored with the same ole, same ole. I had no idea that’s how the series ended. So it turned out he was just dead, and this was hell, or just what happened in purgatory or something?

Agreed about Automan, it was terrible. I was a always a car guy, even as a kid. So Lamborghini making perfect right angle turns, and materializing into thin air? Yeah, an easy sell on me… they could have just showed the same two 15 second clips for an hour each week, and I probably would have watched it.

No, if memory serves, his last leap just killed him. Final shot was of him and Al all standing there, like a picture taken before he leaped for the first time.

Oh, lame. I’m gonna Quantum Leap back to whoever decided that and stab myself (as them) in the genitalia with the nearest kitchen appliance until it hurts like death.
