Yes. Just not that series. I like crap movies… I even mention them at time. I’m probably the worst on this board about watching stupid generic general audience date movies. Or at least I admit to them most often.
It looks uberdumb and I haven’t seen 2, 3 or 4 of this series but I’ll watch this one because;
(a) It’s set in Brazil.
(b) Vin Diesel fights The Rock Johnson.
(c) Vin Diesel fights The Rock Johnson in Brazil.- Women sense my power and they seek the life essence.

Holy cow, this thing is at 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. When I said several places I’d only seen three or four but a significant majority of critics have taken this flick to their bosoms like crazy.
This makes me want to get some peeps together and do a double feature of Fast Five and Thor.

Yeah, I gotta say I was kinda surprised to see that. I’m still in no hurry to see it, and part of me still thinks that it may be getting graded on the “good for what it is” scale.
I think that part of you is totally right, but if what it is is a fun, well made cheesy action flick I’m down for what it is.

okay, the wife and i watched it and really enjoyed it. it was a lot of fun with the caveat already stated: “for what it is”.
this is definitely a movie for the fans. some of the character reveals and relationship dynamics probably won’t hit home if you haven’t at least seen the other ones. but all that is moot amidst the over-the-top scenarios and the most-awesome-fucking-badass-fight-ever between the rock and vin.
if you leave your credibility checker at the gate the movie is a lot of fun.
