ParticipantI didn’t like Unbreakable much but I loved the first half of Signs, before the stupid reveal of the aliens’ achilles heel. I still haven’t seen Sixth Sense, The Happening or Lady In The Water, but I don’t even feel like I want to. The Village is the other one I’ve seen and even though the performances were good I thought the story was shite.

ParticipantI’ve seen all of his movies, but I think he’s been on a steady decline after Signs (although the fact that aliens would travel light years to a planet that is covered in a substance that is such a detriment to their health is kinda dumb, I think that movie is superbly crafted and acted). The Village was very manipulative and utterly disappointing, Lady in the Water was just bleh, and The Happening was the worst movie by a supposed A-List director in the last 20 years, maybe ever. And I’ve always thought that Mark Wahlberg was a terrible actor, and finally he proved it in the Happening.
All that being said, I was cautiously optimistic about The Last Airbender. Again, Roger Ebert said it best for me — “The Last Airbender? I hope it’s the last one.”
No, I haven’t seen it, but if the reviews are any indication, I won’t be seeing it in theaters. If it shows up as an On Demand movie on Fios or Netflix, I might watch it, but otherwise, fuck it.

Yeah, I thought he did a great job directing that film and the writing’s even pretty good apart from that DUMB twist. I saw The Village next and it was also well acted, but badly paced and with a poor story, then I saw Unbreakable on dvd and never got into it. I guess I’ll see The Sixth Sense one day just because it’s somewhat iconic, but I don’t know if it’s worth it once you know the reveal. There are other things I’ll choose to watch first.

ParticipantForgot about signs. I liked signs a lot. Its a beautifully shot film. Other than the part about the water, like you guys said. Not only is the planet covered in it, but it falls from the SKY!!!

ParticipantIt’s like the turning point of War Of The Worlds. How dumb can these intergalactic travellers be?
