Yes, that was great!June 24, 2020 at 11:04 pm in reply to: Your dreams have come true, SEND in the CLONES is here now #66017
Dude, really happy that you enjoyed it! That show was really all Bucho – the show ended up being a sort of labour of love for him, and I think it shows. Since he’s been so busy, we haven’t chatted nearly as much as we’d have liked lately, but, just in case you weren’t aware, I started a Twitch show called Order 42, and he’ll be on the show this weekend! I’m starting at 3 PM CDT, and he’ll be joining around 4. If you’re interested in that, you can go to http://twitch.tv/order42show to watch it!
Btw – our show today was sort of a SOS reunion show. Bryan was unable to make it, but Jerry and I did chat for around 102 minutes. It was fun! I liked it! Why are there so many exclamation points!
I started watching the Expanse and got like 4-5 episodes in. It’s just not grabbing me, but maybe I should stick with it…?
I still need to watch Jack Ryan S2. I guess I was just meh on the first season, but it definitely wasn’t bad or anything.
And holy crap, watch Breaking Bad, Bucho! May be my favorite series ever.
I’ve also been catching up on some “oh yeah, I did want to watch that” kind of thing.
I watched all 4 of the available seasons of Better Call Saul on Netflix, and I really enjoyed it (finished season 4 last night in fact). It makes me want to buy season 5 on iTunes since I’m a cord cutter, but since they’re planning a season 6 (the final season), I’ll just wait it out.
I did buy The Office US a while back since it was super-cheap on iTunes a couple of months back, and holy crap what a great show (was my first time watching ANY of it). I was really surprised at how attached I got to the characters. Season 9 was a bit of a mixed bag, but overall I still really enjoyed it on the whole.
Mostly though, I’m still a Twitch-bitch, watching lots of streamers and live shows. I do want to watch Hunters and Jack Ryan S2 on Amazon, and I recently did watch Watchmen and The Outsider on HBO.
Watchmen – if you’re a fan of the OG comic, I think you’ll really dig it. It’s a continuation of that story 30 years or so later, and I found it fascinating. Prepare to not know what the hell is going on for the first few episodes, but holy shit does it pay off. I can’t see them doing any more since Lindelof has stated that he doesn’t want to do anything further unless divine inspiration strikes, and right now there are no plans. I’ll be thankful for that, because I have no idea how you could continue it and have it have the same impact. I’d give it a 3.75/4.
The Outsider – I read the Stephen King book this was based on and knew it quite well, so I was really interested in it. To me, there’s some padding in there vs the book, but since King was involved, it seemed to have that King flavor. Now that it’s over, I have to say that it was…okay. Fine, not great. I’d say if you’re a fan of King, it’s definitely recommended, but for everyone else, watch that first episode. If it hooks you, then just be aware that there’s a supernatural element to it, but I still feel like it’s worth it, but you kinda need that first episode to hook you. 2.75/4November 2, 2019 at 10:08 am in reply to: Your dreams have come true, SEND in the CLONES is here now #65979
You should hear all the stuff that gets edited out. I mean, Bucho’s…I’m sure he means well, but I’m not sure all the name-calling and insults are necessary. He also sent me a box of Gila monster poo in the mail and the note said, “Enjoy this, bitch!” But…at least the friendlier bits are what you guys all hear. I just need to make sure I limit my sobs so he can cut around those in the edit – I’d hate to have to hear more berating…
Ok, I’m done being silly. We both respect each other and we’ve always gotten along. Kindred spirits, brother from another mother and all that. Makes it easy to do! And…he’s SOOO much better at hitting points than I am. I regularly forget things to talk about, but I’m getting better!
I just hope that you guys enjoy it as much as we do recording it!October 19, 2019 at 7:10 pm in reply to: Your dreams have come true, SEND in the CLONES is here now #65969
Hope you enjoy. They’re super fun to do.
I hadn’t been watching much of anything outside of the Clone Wars. Been so so so busy the last few weeks.
I quit watching the Walking Dead a while ago, because it’s just so dang frustrating. The acting has always been pretty good, but just ugh with the story.
I did watch The Boys, watched Chappelle and Burr’s specials, not much else!
Crap, I need to catch up! 3 behind right now…
Yeah, that was an insane night of fights. Had a great time all the way up until the main event, when I just wanted Jon to engage and I felt terrible for Santos, and he STILL almost won.
Didn’t I do a mini-show where I commented on a lot of my songs? Yeah, some are just me screwing around with sounds and the power of that Roland XP-50 workstation. Like those first two you played – those were recorded live using one sound. That third song was called “Drift”, and Bryan actually used it somewhere in some project he was doing. Drift was one of those where I wanted to see if I could write a song with one sound, layered and stuff.
Anyway, more shows to come!
I’m pretty sure I watched all of your Brazil videos, but I don’t remember this one. It could just be that my interest for acai didn’t come until later, but who knows?
Gonna be listening to these soon, as soon as I get clear of these pesky kids. And…work should be really interesting this week.
Cool – haven’t been able to spend so much time this weekend on anything else but the kids being here (nieces and nephew). But soon!
That was cool to see. I hope Mandalorian is as good as they’re hyping it up to be.
I own the Clone Wars, so there are definitely ways for me to get that to you, if we want to start earlier than the Disney+ launch – we can talk about that.
It really just comes down to how you’d want to approach/present it. What I love about OBS is the ability to set it up like a TV show, with transitions, multiple inputs, all that – so we could definitely set up a live show type of thing, or even if you’d rather just record and put out audio, we could still use it so that you or I could show something on there.
Is it bad that I just want to quit my job and work on this full-time?
