Is Rick Flair your hero? I grew up in the land of the Von Eriks, so of course Rick Flair was a hated man here in TX. Then I turned 12 and figured out it was all goofy and fake, and I really didn’t like man on man action.

haha i love ric flair dude. grew up watchin’ wrasslin’ with my grandpa. i always knew it was, let’s call it ‘scripted’, but i enjoyed it. i still watch every once in a while if nothing else is on. they even had bob barker guest host on RAW the other week. it was hilarious. i know there is a stigma to being a wrasslin’ fan, but i don’t mind. 🙂

Back in the late 80s when wrestling got big in NZ we had the WWF and Ric wasn’t part of that so we only knew about him from when he’d get mentioned in magazines. The big dogs at that time were dudes like Randy Savage, Andre The Giant, Ultimate Warrior, Rick Rude, Brutus Beefcake and Hacksaw and I don’t think I even saw Ric Flair ever perform. I remember Hogan was around but never seemed like a huge deal to us until later when we got to know about his history and all that shit I guess.
