Okay, this has been driving me crazy for the longest time. Everyone’s heard Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” even you Rusty I’m sure, and other than ‘Don’t Stop Believing,’ I kept wondering what the song was about. I had it in my iPod the other day and it popped up and I actually listened to the words of the song. Go back and listen to it with this thought in mind:

    The song’s about strippers.

Do it now, go ….. I’ll wait..

I’ve barely heard it. I’ll try to find it and listen.

Okay, strippers or prostitutes. One of the two.

I always thought it was about growing up and leaving home and having faith in love and whatnot.

But clearly you are preoccupied with strippers, fair play there, so you probably think Hooters is named for boobies.

    You sick-minded naive little man……

Yeah, like don’t stop believing that she’s telling the truth and you actually have a chance of bedding her. “Hold on to that feeling.” Yeah.

For those who don’t know, here are the lyrics (I searched for them on Google, I don’t know the song verbatim). Now come on … hookers! Gotta be.

Just a small town girl, livin in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south detroit
He took the midnight train goin anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
    Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
    Everybody wants a thrill
Payin anything to roll the dice,
    Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
    Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

    (chorus)

    Dont stop believin
    Hold on to the feelin
    Streetlight people

    I’d believe you were correct.

I always thought it was about literally streetlight people. Like, streetlights with arms and legs, riding trains, rolling dice. I never was any good at metaphor.

    - Women sense my power and they seek the life essence.

Imagine that Frank’s Porndar (radar) can even detect songs.

Well you DO have to admit it could very well be about strippers….it just seems to taint the memories of my youth to think about it as as such….

    but enough about my taint

The song Faith in the Heartland from their latest album is also about strippers. Because of quantum.

It’s weird that you bring that up — each stripper hopes that the next dance…will be the dance home.

Now think of the theme music, only as a techno thump-thump beat … and ya’ll give it up for Diamond everyone, she looks so fine …
