ParticipantCNN ran a story today (the usual, porn is bad, cause of all bad things in the world, etc.). In the story, the say that there are 4.2 million porn sites on the Web. This can’t possibly be true. I’ve personally visited well over 5.8 million porn sites myself, but that’s just me. But it was all the rest of the crap they were saying that got me all bothered … and not in a good way.
They were linking those who view porn to those who are sexual predators. They also said that the viewers were mostly men (single men at that they said) and that the only time women watch them is when they’re with their guys and the guys making them watch it.
Does anyone else here take all kinds of offense to this?

KeymasterYep. But then I don’t believe any statistics that come out of any traditional media outlet in this country. Porn is good, plain and simple. Matter of fact, I think I’ll go rate some nude chicks before I get off the computer, just to wash this bad feeling CNN gives me away.

ParticipantI’m pretty sure most chicks would only check it out when they’re with their fella so that side of things is pretty straightforward. As for the sexual predators thing it depends how they link it and how they phrase it. If they’re saying most porn fans are active sexual deviants (ie rapists, molesters etc) I’d say that’s patently ridiculous. But if they’d say most deviants actively go to porn sites, that’s got to be right.

KeymasterYeah, but that’s damn near like saying most predators breathe oxygen, but phrasing it as if blaming oxygen for paw-paw messing with the Billy’s boy-parts.

ParticipantI’m gonna quote that smartass doctor from scrubs
“I’m convicned that if they took all the porn off the internet there would only be one website left and it would be called “www.bringbacktheporn.com”

Participantwait a second, people take CNN seriously?
Ya, I can’t really stand major news networks anymore… It seems all editorials and journalist thingies lean a certain way and refuse to see any other possible outcome… so I stopped watching.
Lastly, I’ve seen 5.9 million Frank, you got some catching up to do.

I wasn’t counting all the clown/midget and midget clown sites, but yeah, you’re right. Tomorrow it’ll hit 6 million strong.
