Do these people think that tactics like this work? If anything, it makes me LESS inclined to even look into whatever it is they’re slapping a link up for!
Yeah, they do think it works… and it does. They create these links, and Google indexes our board, and the logic is that these keywords link to that website, so it increases it’s rankings on those keywords. It’s not designed to get us to click them, it’s designed to have them show up better in the search results, because more websites (like ours) say that it’s a relevent search.
